Oh man I missed that he moved to Texas. Guess that will take some of the sting out of it if he doesn’t end up here.

Maybe we get him down the line out of the portal.
I took a look at Myron’s stats at DeSoto from this year. He is a sophomore and played behind a really good Senior RB who averaged 164 yards a game. Their QB was also a senior and ran a lot too, averaging roughly the same yards per game as Myron. I’d expect Myron to get most of the carries next year if he chooses to stay at DeSoto.

I believe it was Andy Buh who got us rolling there from utilizing the contacts he'd made while at Maryland and Rutgers after getting hired at Illinois. I think Illinois is benefiting greatly from the timing of Sitkowski playing and being on staff here. And then NJ native Tommy Devito playing well for us and becoming a local sports celebrity playing for the Giants. It's brought a lot of positive publicity our way from the Garden State. Then we also have the slow steady improvement of our team since hiring BB. Almost a perfect storm scenario for us to jump into recruiting NJ (and surrounding states) big time.

Just curious, why would we focus on New Jersey. I don't think of them as a bed of talent and I don't think of those players really seeing illinois as a natural fit.
its B1G country and NJ actually has very decent prep talent. Penn St, ND, Iowa and Syracuse have sucked all the talent out of there for years and left the scraps for Rutgers . Its territory worth mining as I think Bret has connections there from the Wiscy days

I read somewhere that most talented NYC kids go to prep schools in Jersey bc of the limited football space/resources in NYC. Not sure how accurate that is, but seems plausible.
