Illinois has taken a project big man while Underwood has been coach and them guys have been terrible. Hamlin, Lieb and Jakstys have/will be terrible. Once Ty redshirt he was never coming back. It will probably be at least 7 players leaving/transferring out this summer. If you think a program can maintain this must attrition year after year and be a NCAA TOURNAMENT TEAM every year is unrealistic.

DGL plays like 6’ 4” because of his athleticism. Don’t think his height is an issue. He plays defense, finishes at the rim and his quickness gives him an advantage on both ends.
He definitely gives our team a huge spark...

No guarantee Will is even back next year …

Personally - I wouldn’t pay the asking price … Would rather use that $$$ to get someone more consistent …
You mean like Carey Booth? Who you said would be starting this year.

Isn't there something to be said to having roster consistency? This mass transfer/turnover is absolutely ridiculous. It's ok to plug in some holes via the portal, but the whole hockey line change process should never happen again. Riley is a true freshman and we're complaining about consistency? The light is starting to go on with him as he navigates his freshman year and your thought is to turn that portion of the roster over AGAIN? C'mon....

For next year, who would be happy with:
Kylan Boswell
DGL
Will Riley
Morez Johnson
Tomislav Ivisic

Dame Sarr
Transfer guard
Transfer/euro wing
Transfer 4 man
Jake Davis
I would prefer a more solid lead guard and can the transfer/euro wing be kostic??

I do love the two bugs returning with DGL.

I’d personally love to bring Riley back. I know there’s always going to be moving pieces with the portal, but the kid is talented and Brad can develop guys. Why not keep one of our highest rated recruits ever around? If he doesn’t go pro I think he’s having a big sophomore year somewhere

Not sure that Tre deserves the negativity. He and WR have played about the same number of minutes: WR averages 1 more point a game; Tre averages 2 more rebounds a game; Tre a much better defender. The perceptions on here flow wildly depending on recent performances. WR has outperformed Tre recently is the major difference. You are only as good as your last game.

In that lineup, wouldn’t Will Riley be the primary PG? Then WR guards the 3 and DGL and Kylan would guard the opposing 1 and 2. I get the height concerns but DGL and Bam can pressure the rim and guard.

I really like Will as PG. I’ve rewatched the 2nd half of the OSU game 3 times.
I've been thinking the same. Would love to see him as the primary ball handler with either Bam or KJ a little more this season.

Well on April 9th … Booth had come off a season where he started 19 games, played in 33 and contributed quite a bit on an ACC team … Former top 50 kid …

The staff was also very high on him … They missed on their evaluation and on April 9th … I missed on my starting lineup of guessing who would start without even having these kids committed or touch the court for practice … 🤷🏻‍♂️

:ROFLMAO: April 9th... I can't remember what happened last week! lol. Also, April 9th, we had no idea we would be after Egor, KJ or Tomi...

Well, being that he is just 18, trending up. and should still be in high school. I think he will finish strong. If he comes back to college which he should I expect to take a major leap next season after a strong finish this year turning 19.

Here are some highlights from ND for Booth. Looks like a completely different player. I can absolutely see why someone would think this guy would start for us. It doesn't always work out the way it should work out. See e.g. AJ Storr.

Probably my eyes playing tricks on me, but somehow Booth looks thinner now than he did as a freshman.
