MSU loses again. I wish we had a few of our losses back. Oh well it is in our hands now that Tomi is back.

Auburn is good

I hate Bruce Pearl

They can’t win unless the officials let them assault the other team while playing defense.

The NCAA tournament is called much differently than the SEC. That’s why they have a spotty NCAA tournament record.

The Bulls&t coach running the Bulls&t program lost it after losing again.
I'd be curious to know the full story and exactly what the fan said. While I agree those on the floor shouldn't confront fans, I'll also say that fans who spew some of the garbage I hear even at non D-1 events need to face consequences as well.

I know that as a high school and college soccer official, I ask game administration to deal with anyone directing anything personal and provocative to on-field participants. I've even asked my son and his buddies to not direct anything toward a kid on the other team during a game one night. While I don't condone Cooley going after a fan, if the fan was doing stupid stuff he needs to face consequences as well.

Well, with both UCLA and MSU having home games on Saturday, I’m guessing we’ll be facing two top 25 teams next week. Let’s win twice this week and get both matchups some real hype!!
On this note, regardless of how well the Illini do this week, this would be just the third time in the last 25 years that we welcomed two top 25 teams to the House of 'Paign in the same week ... and the other one was this season!

2024-25
Tuesday 12/10 - W 86-80 vs. #20 Wisconsin (ILL NR)
Saturday 12/14 - L 64-66 vs. #1 Tennessee (ILL NR)

2010-11
Tuesday 1/18 - W 71-62 vs. #17 Michigan State (ILL #23)
Saturday 1/22 - L 68-73 vs. #1 Ohio State (ILL #23)

Let's break that W/L pattern and win our next four.

So to follow up on my “it’s not who you play it’s when you play them” thesis, Purdue catches Iowa without Freeman and only wins by 9. I think Freeman would have scored enough and bothered TKR enough to make that game really interesting.

And I saw Desmond Claude missed last nights game against NW with a bone bruise, and so may not play Purdue on Friday but if he does likely won’t be 100%. And as we’ve seen, Claude is a drop coverage killer. Another break.

Unfortunately I just think the stars were aligned against us this year with our injuries, who we played when short handed, and some other scheduling/injury breaks teams in front of us got.

But if we can get healthy and find our 3 pt shot I still think we can go farthest in the tourney. The solace I’m taking is that I think MSU and Purdue are flawed teams in spite of their records, and if they get the wrong draw could easily go home in the first round.

I really thought Purdue would fall back a bit this season and I did not see Braden Smith having the season that he is without Edey and also have been surprised at what is really a breakout season for TKR.

Or, maybe I can convince myself that I am "less wrong" by factoring in these things you've mentioned along with them just in general having an easier conference draw/schedule than most.

Sometimes continuity and buying into a program does wonders for players development.

Wolfe just did a nasty move that ended with a step back 3 and hit.. Michigan on an 11-0 run against the Ducks right now.
