More than 2 assistant coaches.
All of this was so avoidable. If he was the “ceo” we all laud him to be and built a better staff to give him a better eval on transfers as well as which commitments he should accept (ahem the fears brothers) we are in much better shape
hes the 8th highest paid coach in the country. take control of this !!!! or leave for somewhere else. Tyler and hamer cant do it.
Brad ain't going anywhere. Not his best year but no doubt in my mind he will be back-big offseason ahead.
if some other program wants him, he might leave.
You also gotta look at this from Brad's standpoint. If that were to happen, he's got things to think about for himself just as much as Josh does (and if his people/agents are indeed open to hearing from other programs....

Agree 100%. I think he goes back to his comfort zone too. Obviously talented, but an older team, more toughness, much more physical, more grit, leadership and established winners at this level.
Such a shame. As we all know, momentum can be fleeting. This program is ready to win right now, and winning coaches are ready to take over. Wait too long and another groce like era may be looming

No, after tonight Josh recognizes we’re in damage control. He won’t allow momentum to be lost. Football appears to be fixed. We thought basketball was…(Nope, we got high school coaches running our team). Seven years coaching and we experience the worst loss in Illinois history???? If I’m AD, plan B!
I just trust Josh Whitman to do what’s best.
But objectively, after watching what we watched this year, what hope do we have that next year’s team will be a B1G contender under Brad? Previous results I guess, but this year is extremely concerning.
No changes when the strategy isn’t working. In fact he doubled down on it
Missed on some key recruits. But continues to belive he was still right and plays them anyway.
Tons of questions about rotations and who gets minutes and benching players.
Weird immature digs at the media
Not hiring legit assistants. Letting Chester get away was a mistake. Honestly to me it feels like he just wants assistants that won’t question him. That’s one reason you’d choose Hamer over Chester I guess.
Just doesn’t feel like a situation that’s heading in the right direction. Hope some other AD believes it really was all due to bad injury luck and we all get a fresh start. And hope that the big NIL people are with Josh first and foremost.

This is unbelievably disheartening to hear.. We will lose our best players and have major transfers and basically be starting from scratch again..

I'm increasingly convinced that Brad is basically Rick Barnes. He owns the regular season (most of the time) and underperforms in big moments and in the big dance despite having unbelievable talent. Barnes has had a Final Four and 3 Elite Eight appearance in his 25 full seasons Texas and Tennessee. Not bad, but not where I think we would like our program to be. And I'm getting those vibes out of the Underwood regime.

What? You're okay with no in-game adjustments? Getting our *** handed to us as a 1 seed in the second round? Losing several marquee games at home that we could've won? Shooting the most threes in conference while also having the worst 3pt percentage?
