The thing that hurts with this game outside of the frontcourt mismatch is we do not play a style of defense that takes advantage of Michigan's biggest weakness, which is turning the ball over.

Forcing them to turn it over could offset their size advantage, but that's just not what this team does.

Hopefully a longer break than we have had in a while will help Tomi continue to get healthy and add some wrinkles to the defense.
That's why we pay Hamer... err, nevermind.

Am driving 600 miles to see this one in person. Someone in the front court please step up. I badly want to beat these guys in their house. And I need a palate cleanser after witnessing that debacle in NYC last weekend.

I might be crazy but I actually kinda like this matchup.

Golden is a beast and will likely get his no matter what. But a healthy Tomi should be able to slow things up.

But where I think we could potentially give them fits is to put Kylan on Wolf. I think Kylan can fluster Wolf on the perimeter and should be able to get his hands on a lot of balls due to the height difference. Yes, if Wolf backs Kylan down he’s got 10 inches but that’s not really Wolf’s game. I would see if Wolf is willing or able to consistently back down Kylan and adjust from there if necessary.

Again, I may be crazy. It may not work at all. But if Kylan can fluster Flagg on the perimeter, I think he can do the same to Wolf. Get Wolf flustered/sped up/uncomfortable and I think we’ve cut off the head of the snake.

Think we are better then michigan but I dont see how they contain goldin and wolf for 40 minutes. not enough bodies

I'm convinced Michigan is gonna paste us, but I'd love love love to be wrong.
We were all sure we’d lose big without Ayo a few years ago.

So who’s going to be our Curbello this time. The bench guy who they don’t see coming who goes off and we win going away.

No Juwan Howard or Hunter Dickinson, they might have a chance this time
It truly was amazing how much we had their number. I might try to look this up someday, but I would be curious to know if we have ever had a winning streak of 8+ games going vs. one opponent that included two victories vs. them when they were ranked in the top 5 ... guessing not many!

I suggest we all make preemptive post game comments now when we are level-headed and Dan locks them in so no emotional meltdown in actual post game

If we get blown out: “this is embarrassing. This season is a disaster. First round exit here we come. If Brad doesn’t make changes this off-season, his seat should be getting warm fast”

If we lose in a close one: “it’s what it is. Tomi is soft. KJ a turnover machine. Ben is beyond unplayable now. Would be lucky to win another one the rest of the way”

If we win a close one: “Never in doubt”

If we win in a blowout: “best win of the season. If we can somehow make it to the second weekend, I consider this season a success. For all the injuries and sickness we have had, not to mention an entirely new team, is CoY back on the menu for Brad?”

Am I doing this right?

Well...we also had Wisconsins number for a good long while too.

Would be nice to keep one of those streaks alive!

We need to drive drive drive and get Wolf and Golden in foul trouble is the only way I see us picking up a win here. The rest of their team is not that great but those big guys could hurt us.
Agreed.
Then again, we needed to do exactly the same thing to have a chance at winning our Elite Eight game against U Conn, and we saw how that worked out. Plan A did not work and there was no Plan B to be had.

I just don't think we match up well with them without Morez. They are going to abuse us inside all night, and I don't have faith in Hamer's defensive scheming to stop them.
I agree...without Morez, I don't know how you match up with their bigs. And we're not a team to try a 2-3 match-up zone. Don't have a lot of confidence in this one. Maybe this will be the game we shoot 50% from 3 and blow em out. 🤷‍♂️

Since January 16th they have had 9 games decided by 4 points or less.....actually lucky they aren't on a slide like we were.
Agree that some luck is certainly involved, but a lot of that is clutch Danny Wolf.

Name five guys exactly like Danny Wolf.
lol this was exactly my thought he’s the definition of a unicorn. A really freakin good one too.

I don’t think we’ll have an answer for him, we just gotta counter. I’m not holding my breath.
