You are aware you are posting on Illinois Loyalty? It would be nice if NET included character as one of the parameters.

Bruce Pearl is one elite coach. Looking at that Auburn roster, you would not expect them to be 27-2.

They have 1 projected NBA draft pick (based on NBA Draft.net). Duke has 5.

4 of their starters are transfers from weak programs.

Miles Kelly- Georgia Tech
Chad Mazara- Duquesne/SDSU
Johni Broome- Morehead State
Denver Jones- FIU

Pettiford is an NBA player and a freshman. But you wouldn’t think just him and some old role players would be this good

miles kelly 30 pts. we were in on him in the summer i think.
he was, in all essence, 'just another guy' ...

his commitment came later in the cycle, we weren't as on him, not all that highly ranked, coming over from a bad ga tech team....with the portal, ya just never know which one will bust and which one will boom.

Two hot takes:

1) Florida will cut down the nets because Bruce Pearl will inexplicably shlt the bed in the Sweet Sixteen.

2) SEC refs might just be worse than Big Ten ones, lol.

Refs suck every night, but without bias -- they could care less who wins, as long as they --refs-- get paid.

The rules as written are pathetic; the summer reffing camps emphasize rules in ways that no one would agree with; and reffing is an impossible task with rules mis-written and mis-intrepreted as they are every single game.

So: I think the biggest problems are the written rules; the interpreted rules; and the screaming coaches. Solutions: Rewrite rules; re-teach rules; and stiffle the screaming bench whiners (coaches -- they are the biggest problem, actually). Basketball would then be better. (Won't happen. Sigh).

Or if Indiana would have just kept Kelvin. He was basically fired for impermissible phone calls while on probation.

Both Ilinois Weseyan teams won their conference (CCIW) tournaments to earn automatic NCAA bids. The women's team, playing at the Shirk Center, now 28-1, most likely host a first round NCAA 4 pack at home. They beat Carroll 95-86. The IWU men's team beat Carthage at Carthage for their first ever conference tourney title. The women's team has won 9 conference tournaments.

First ever conference tourney for the IWU men? That’s almost hard to believe in terms of how good they usually are. Maybe the tourney is a newer thing. When I went there I don’t remember if the conference tourney existed.
That’s awesome about the women. Let’s hope they can get to the final four.

Championship Week begins in the low-major conferences as the ASUN tournament starts tonight with the bottom 4 seeds in the tournament facing each other with the rest of the conference tournament qualifiers beginning tomorrow. The OVC, Big South, Missouri Valley, Summit League, Sun Belt, Horizon League, and Northeast Conference tournaments all begin later this week.

Refs call an and 1 for Tonje to put Badgers up 15-4. Tom thought it was on the floor so they changed it to on the floor. Now tied. Changed the whole momentum of the game.
