Half: Illinois up 6. Both offenses settled in. Illinois had a nice flurry in the final two minutes to push the lead to six after Michigan had tied it at 23.

I was thinking the same thing. I've been watching her for four years and have never seen her so fired up. Normally, she's head down and get back on defense. Today, she made the count it motion after her first made basket and then held her arm up after the 3 and shouted. Love the swagger and hope the crowd is feeding off it.
I don't follow our ladies, but had to watch today in respect for our Seniors.
Pretty good game so far - surprised how often our ladies drive the lane - fearless!
Also surprised how the refs are really letting them play - complete opposite of men's refs, it seems.

Yeah, despite our size, we're really effective at getting downhill. Adalia is incredibly strong and Gen, despite being small, is fast and shifty. They both take a ton of contact and keep on driving.

Olson is gonna be a problem for years to come. A really impressive freshman. We can't let them get out in transition. Huge and 1 by KB at the end of the quarter to give us a 3 point lead. Gonna be a heck of a finish.

Our inability to break the press again is tough. And the fact these refs aren't calling any fouls isn't helping. Gotta get some stops so they can't get set up.
Three straight years of not breaking a press. It's the one blind spot of Coach Green's teams so far.
Some of these foul calls are ridiculous. Michigan clearly over the back but the box out for some reason gets the foul call. Coach is livid.

Girls not helping themselves right now against the refs.. Way to many TOs this game.. If they don't win that's the stat that cost them. TOs and transition buckets for Michigan. AND giving up Offensive Rebounds.. multiple per possession.. Big change to gain home crowd momentum for our girls.. and Michigan coming in with an unstoppable 4th quarter. 11-0 run so far to end this game
Officiating has been very rough this game. If they lose it won't be the only reason, but it is making it tougher. Michigan being a much more efficient team is the real problem. Too many Illini turnovers.

Press has been our Achilles heel for 3 years. It's tough with small guards and without Makira's ballhandling. Even still, this team has done way more than anybody could have expected on the day Gretchen and Makira were both ruled out for the season. 7th seed in the B1G tourney. Let's make a run and then see where we go on Selection Sunday.
And damn, those hugs to the seniors on that final substitution. Just really emotional stuff. Will always be proud of this senior class.
