KJ and Reily could reeeeealy use another year to develop ;)
agreed. For the obvious reasons, plus I'd hate to see them as bench warmers for some NBA team (even though they'd make a lot of money.) As far as that goes, we should be able to fork over enough NIL cash to keep them VERY comfortable.

Finally got some time to give my post game thoughts …

1. LOVE the starting lineup adjustment …

2. When Tre White rebounds … He’s a really freaking good player … Rebounding turns into second chance points which gives him confidence … He’s also 7-13 from 3 in his last 3 I believe ? Those corner 3s he is shooting with confidence … More of those please …

3. Consistent Kylan with no fancy passing and no bad threes can take this team to another level … Heck of a job on Wolf defensively …

4. This felt like the right amount of minutes for Ben with Morez out … 20-25 minutes … Those 1H threes were UGLY … Glad he got a couple to drop though …

5. Jake Davis … Exactly what we needed from him …

6. Will Riley did a little bit of everything and that’s the version of Will we need …

7. DGL … Nothing to say but I’m sorry kid …

8. Brad … Good adjustments … Shortening the rotation is the right decision …

Sencire level 3 point shooting. Gayle 1-26 from 3 in 2025. Can we assume Gayle is high on the Illinois transfer list? :)

I read the MSU game thread about our game which was a mix of insults about Illinois and then rooting against Michigan.
Then I saw this MSU fan make this claim:

Does MSU even make our top 3 of hated teams? We mainly dislike Izzo and his whining.

Riley's decision making with the ball is really good for a freshman. He has helped alleviate the pressure on both Kylan and KJ. He didn't force anything last night.

Yep, he's gone. ZERO chance he's back nor should he be. Actually wondering how far he's boosted himself here. Might even get into the top 15-20 range.

Really liked the game plan. Let Goldin work for his but play him 1 on 1 and shut off everyone else with Kylan on Wolf. I like the way we matchup defensively with Purdue. Bos on smith will be fun to watch.

somehow michigan only dropped 2 spots in latest ap top 25. we only dropped 1 after losing by 21 at home to maryland, but had a sunday blow-out win over northwestern.

I doubt MSU would even make Top 5 most hated team from the average Illinois fan if you made a poll.

In the B10 alone, Indiana and Iowa are assuredly at the top of the list. Younger fans might bring up Michigan or Purdue. Maybe someone out there says a Northwestern. Then in non-con, Mizzou is up there. I've personally felt more hate for both Arizona and Kansas in my life than MSU. Hell, throw UNC in there also. Our older fans also likely might have Kentucky on the list. I don't know if all 10 of those teams would be the Illini nation consensus Top 10, but yeah, MSU wouldn't make the cut for me, which is sort of strange considering our 2 teams owned the B10 in my early to mid 00s college years, but yeah, never really hated them.

Top 5 in level of hatred:
1) Michigan
2) Missouri
3) Iowa
4) Indiana
5) Michigan again
Mine would be:
1. Indiana
2. Iowa
3. Kansas
4. Arizona
5. Michigan

And yes, I know I left Mizzou off, but at the same time, I've always considered them as a team we should beat like a little better Northwestern... [man would this make for a tigerboard post, especially since a Kansas fan would agree, lol]

1998 graduate of Illinois, lifelong fan, and I grew up in the Quad Cities. Here's the list.

1. Iowa
2. Indiana
3. Any team Bruce Pearl coaches
4. Missouri
5. Any team Kelvin Sampson coaches

I used to hate Arizona, but that kind of went away after Lute left. Teams like Michigan, UNC and UConn that have beaten us in big NCAA games usually has my distate go away after a season (but I still can't stand Dan Hurley). Those five teams will pretty much stay constant.

1. Most SEC schools
2. Duke/UNC/Kansas and lately, UConn
3. Everybody else
