Cleveland. I can't recall Cincy hosting early round games, maybe ever for as long as I've watched college basketball.
Which makes sense because there's absolutely no stadium there that that the NCAA would put games in that would have the capacity to maximize profit, though I suppose Dayton holds a couple.

Man, it was early and the point was to get the travel distance right for ease of travel for MSU fans. Throwing the state of Ohio out there is good enough. :)

Has the committee ever said head to head results have played a role?
Among the resources available to the committee are an extensive season-long evaluation of teams through watching games, conference monitoring calls and NABC regional advisory rankings; complete box scores and results, head-to-head results, results versus common opponents, imbalanced conference schedules and results, overall and non-conference strength of schedule, the quality of wins and losses, road record, player and coach availability and various computer metrics.

6 I think pretty much means Milwaukee. BYU will get Denver based on Sunday. Milwaukee will also get Wiscy and Louisville to go with them and then UCLA gets Arizona/Texas Tech in like Denver or Wichita something like that. IF!! we are a 6 seed.

Speaking of first round sites, has anyone else looked at the 2026 sites? I was just curious and looking ahead. I noticed St Louis is the only first round site anywhere close to the Midwest. That seems strange. Bad planning by the NCAA? Anyways season isn't over just found it odd.

Even though it's a bit of a stretch geographically, OKC could be considered the 2nd Midwest site.

Watching them play the last few days, I do not want to be in Florida’s bracket. They’re just getting better and better every game.

Don’t want another matchup with Duke. Don’t want to see Auburn either.

So, guessing there are only really a handful of teams now that would be our first round opponent. Likely Utah State, Oklahoma, West Virginia, Vandy, VCU....maybe UCSD, Drake or San Diego State? Maybe it's a little more than a handful and I could be missing one or two. I don't know a ton about these teams other than their resumes (and of course WV). Any that would be bad matchups based on size and physicality?

Also, I really want to avoid the 11th seeded play in teams. I don't think we're at risk of that, but something about getting their feet wet and getting some confidence that scares me.

First sentence is a bad take imo

Sorry if this has been asked, aside from the Memphis-UAB game that is on now,

There were no bid stealers this year, correct?
I don't think Gonzaga is consider bid stealer.

Why is there such a discrepancy between Illinois and Purdue on seeds? Net shows they are about even, plus we beat them.

Colorado State was firmly on the bubble and they won the Mountain West. They were most likely OUT without winning it.
They’d only be a bid stealer if Boise still makes it. Mountain west was always a 2 bid league but if it becomes 3 then that’s where they stole an at large

Cincy used to host early round games in what was the Riverfront Coliseum (now I'm sure named something else... drove by it last October and the arena is still there.) We're talking late '70s through the '80s. Can't recall it doing so in the past 25 yrs at least.

Columbus has also hosted occasionally this century, in the Blue Jackets' arena downtown. IIRC that was the site of our ignominious 2007 loss to Virginia Tech in the first round, where Ron Guenther was sitting courtside screaming at the officials.

This should stay here and also go into the coaching thread discussion. I remember that well and I was close to physically ill after it.

I thought he was screaming at Warren Carter? Or both?
