I get it, but you can see a variety of judges saying the NCAA refuses to enforce a threshold for eligibility. The rule is games, not snaps. If the NCAA says that playing more than a fourth game means you've burned a year of eligibility, then you can't then say it's okay that you play (say) seven extra snaps in the fifth game, because what if it's 10 snaps? 15 snaps? Just come up with a rule, say you can't cross it, enforce it regardless of circumstance, and you might stop losing every court case.
I remember we had a laugh on these boards when Locksley was looking at getting Tualia an extra year of eligibility because he threw 12 passes in five games for Alabama as a freshman. Now our coaching staff is essentially asking for the same thing.
