There are only two teams out of conference that I dislike more than Kentucky. One of them is Duke. The other is, you guessed it. UNC.
No Kansas? Also loved to see Arizona lose, especially when Olsen was there.

-Tomi’s passing could be the key to this game. Foul trouble for him concerns me in regards to guarding Williams.
-If UK decides to play 2 bigs when Trey is at the “4” then, well, good luck with that. Ben has to shoot well and make Carr guard the perimeter. My guess is that they will sag off and pack in when ball swings to him. He has to relax and be ready.
-We have multiple guys playing their best basketball of the season right now. Confidence is high.
-KJ is back…keep it under 4.5 turnovers
-DGL, Ben…give me something off the bench boys..please
And Jake.

Also in 119. I hope that our fans didn't limit themselves to Friday's session only. Iowa State and especially Kentucky, have HUGE fan followings. It's going to be interesting the split. There are a TON of Kentucky fans in my hotel. Hoping that they didn't purchase a ton of session 3 tickets because it was on a weekend and assumed that they were going to smash Troy. We'll see soon!
Anything could happen, but there were like twice as many Illini fans as UK fans DURING the Kentucky game yesterday! I think it will feel like a home game once again tomorrow.

I'm really hoping so. My son and I were there for all four games(two sessions). As is our practice for the NCAAT, we're in the doors the second they open, we hit the souvenir stand before they get jammed, head to the seats, leave all the overpriced cr@p we bought at the seats...then head back to get whatever the food or drink of choice is.

Yesterday, Iowa State brought a large contingent of people and they definitely dominated session one. There was definitely a good amount of orange spread throughout. Ole Miss didn't have much, though they stood the whole d@mn game, UNC didn't bring much and obviously Lipscomb didn't bring much.

In session 2, Kentucky has their normal, strong contingent. There was a lot more orange rolling in, then by our game time....it was 75% Illinois.

Wondering what it's going to look like with all three(OSU, Kentucky and us) jammed into session 3. It'll be interesting to see who gobbled up the remaining tickets or the tickets from the fans whose teams lost.

I hope we pay attention to who the refs will be tomorrow when making the game plan. Some of the ref teams were calling pretty much every interior contact within the no charge zone. There was no such thing as incidental contact when the defender went straight up. If we get one of those teams, we could be in serious trouble real fast.

Just making sure it doesn’t go unread:

Sections 107 and 210 for the Illini fans.

Good news is you won’t be alone though anywhere if it’s anything like last night. But, don’t take that for granted. 2 other very passionate fan bases will be there. I can assure you Iowa St. does not think too highly of the Illini as well.

I’ll be in 119 with 3 others. Again, hope to see a bunch of you tomorrow.

Go Illini
Thanks for the reply. I’ll be up in 210.
Just hope I don’t have disgruntled Marquette fans sitting behind me telling me ‘down in front!’ again like I did Friday night.

Some of the teams of referees have been calling pretty much every contact in the no charge zone. It didn't seem to matter if the defender went straight up. A number of the calls seemed pretty minor incidental contact that I'd expect to be "play on" 99% of the time. St John vs. Arkansas was a prime example of this style. If we know we are getting a set of refs who have been calling it this way, we should make a game plan both to take advantage of it, and protect our bigs from early foul trouble.

is there an official term for a set of referees who routinely work together?

Why Duke? Duke hasn't done Illinois dirty outside of some recruiting battles but that's ultimately on the student athletes. I'd easily choose Kansas and Missouri over Duke. At least from an Illini fandom perspective
