And this is not further reason to dislike Duke?

The question on the table is not the rational decision making of high schoolers, it is the inbred advantages Duke has that make them unlikable.
Not to me. They had a solid run in the '60s and then briefly in the late '70s under Bill Foster, but they weren't a destination until Coach K made them that. A single hiring decision. I don't begrudge a top HS prospect choosing to play there given K's stature. Plus, it's undeniably an excellent school (well, at least to the extent that any university these days can be called such.) And they play really solid basketball.

Without Krzyzewski it's kinda Stanford. Highly selective school, meh basketball and football on average (except for some notable departures in the past.) Somebody from there gets up in my grill haughtily about my UIUC degrees in comparison I laugh at them.

I lived in Britain and Canada for a long while. I really dislike the "cut down the tall poppy" syndrome that permeates those places. In America we celebrate excellence, as any healthy society should.

That said, I obviously shed no tears when Duke loses.

It's Iowa and Mizzou for me. I don't think I really hate any other programs. Even the big ones. Iowa just drives me nuts as an athletic department. Full steam ahead on an offensive system in basketball and damn the defense, while the football program doesn't know a first down until it bites them in the face. Mizzou just feels like permanent little brother status. The Scrappy Doo of schools.

Krush have a block of tickets in 210. I know at least one student who is using his ticket to cheer on the Illini. I find it disheartening however, that I was able to purchase my ticket in the secondhand market in the same row to be able to be there with him. This goes for the I-Fund lower bowl section as well re: reselling. If you can’t go, pass on the offer and let the next person on the list get a chance to go. It’s not meant to be a chance to make a couple hundred bucks. It’s a reward for loyalty so you can be at the game.
Rant over.
Part of the issue is that when you requested the seats, you were required to purchase both sessions if Illini advanced to second round. There may have been some people who went Friday, but now couldn't go today. I am not going to complain about the IFUND purchasers, because they obviously donated a ton to get high up on the list. I really doubt they used the system to try to make a buck. Can't necessarily say the same for some of the students who sold their seats.

With the first game of the day in Raleigh running long and given how much time the NCAA likes to let breathe on these weekend games, I'm guessing our game starts closer to 4:30 PM.

Everyone should hate Duke. It's not something that needs a reason.
How I've viewed Duke is through their rivals, and that's UNC and Maryland. I can't stand either of those schools, so Duke has always been lower on my list. In a lot of ways, it's somewhat like how I look at OSU football. I'm not a fan, but they beat Michigan so I don't outright hate them.

You still have some time to work on your hate level for the Buckeyes to an appropriate level for an ILLINI . . . like where I am at with Kentucky right now!

Most public money is on KY but ILL still favored.
I would agree that UK having about a 60% chance of winning is probably about right. I think we have a higher level of inconsistency to our game and our shooting can leave us for long stretches. That said, rebounding travels, and if we come out with the same energy and effort on the boards that we did against Xavier, that's how we win this game. Clear the boards and get a double digit margin in our favor in 2nd chance points and take it home. Make it happen!
