Classic! Two evenly-matched heavyweights trading punches. And my favorite Illini team of all-time.

Glad it's not being played in Lexington this time around!
Starting my day off by watching it now. Some random thoughts:
1. Forgot the matchup earlier in year had no officials due to weather and had to pull folks from stands to officiate.
2. Altenberger considered going to Kentucky? How awful that would be!
3. Man, the 3-point line and shot clock has completely changed the game!
4. Lou Hensen was a damn good coach!
5. This was a deep, balanced, and talented team.
6. Winters played injured that game.

Just to be clear for those who are likely wondering, the people pulled from the stands were qualified basketball officials. They were local high school officials, but it wasn't like three random people were picked like in a 50/50 raffle drawing.

That Kentucky team was loaded. Kenny Walker and Winston Bennet off the bench? Still, 15-0 on second half free throws, smh (OK, we got 2 after the game was decided).

I will always consider that the Quinn Richardson game.

I felt the same way reference Kentucky fans Friday night. Maybe 10 percent Kentucky. I had more Marquette fans in my section 119 oddly. Guess they just wanted to see good ball and their team lose on the big screen lol

Everyone should hate Duke. It's not something that needs a reason.
I have a friend who went to Duke so I guess I don't feed into that idea that I have to hate Duke because they're Duke. UNC I have a reason to dislike, Missouri I have a reason to dislike. Kansas I have a reason to dislike. Big 10 foes like Indiana and Iowa I have a reason to dislike. But, Duke never did anything to Illinois other than give us our worst loss in program history. But, that's on our players and coaches. That's just me though

Anyone know which section is the Illini section in the lower bowl?

Edit - seeing it is 107

How about Jon Scheyer is a kid from the Chicago suburbs (whose high school coach was Bruce Weber’s brother) who spurned his state school ILLINOIS to go to Duke? Is that a reason?
