Most on this board would agree with you, but to me it seems premature. We never see him in practice. We never see him on Fletcher's program. There's just too much we don't know to judge him.

If Brad lets this kid stay I’m going to be INSANELY disappointed and have serious questions going forward …
The ONLY reason I can see it happening is that we now have 15 scholarships. We gave one to a Walk On, so why not?

Unless he's a problem child.

I remember Indy posting PJ Haggerty a few weeks back. Not sure if he is going portaling but a backcourt of him and Boz could be terrific.

Brad LOVED the kid out of HS …

I posted him on here I feel like a month or two ago … Let’s just say him entering the portal isn’t a surprise to the staff …
Would be as ideal as it comes when adding wing scoring in this offense. If we think about all the open looks we generated for Ben this kid would have changed the outcome of a few games by himself just shooting at his career percentage.

From one of my favorite names towns in the continental US. Good ol' Poca, WV.

I wasn't mentally ready to start with this today, but now that we're out of the tournament and the portal is officially open, it seems now is the time to relaunch the Unofficial Illinois Loyalty Portal Tracker.

As with last year, I will try to keep this updated with names that get posted here by those with some of that inside info to have a consolidated list of the names that we should be paying attention to. Orange names are ones that seem to be higher priority targets, dark blue names are ones that we will likely have some interest in or contact with but may not be top targets. I will also include names if a linked tweet says we've been in contact even if they haven't been reported by our insiders. I will continue to include our insider Crystal Ball, which is typically information coming from @Indy Illini Fan , to see what the trends are for who is going where. Last year Indy went a cool 46/54 for a solid 85%.

I'm only including names of people that are officially in the portal (currently using 247's Portal List as my reference, but if people have a better one let me know!), so some names may get discussed on here that don't show up in the list yet.

If someone has information to correct anything, I'm appreciative of the corrections. If anyone has any suggestions, feel free to DM or reply.

I've left last years sheet in as a tab in case people feel like browsing, but will probably hide it later as the current season list grows.

I'll try and post occasionally throughout the week with the updated link to the sheet, and the link will also live in my signature. ILL
Dix would be my pick. I have seen him play several times. I think he could fit in Illinois scheme

I really think another year would help Will, KJ and Tomi tremendously to build up strength, work on fundamentals like handling the ball, passing. They all looked overmatched against the better teams. Just my thoughts.
If Boswell, White, Rez and Toni come back that is a good nucleus to build on. I wouldn't give up on Dra, I think he vastly improved this year but I know he has to be frustrated with his playing time. Hope he stays. We need a bonified 3 point shooter not another Ben, and it wouldn't hurt to have another GOOD big man behind Tomi and Rez.
Question--Why did Brad give Keaton Wagler [walk on] a scholarship? Is he a relative?

True, but Booth was so bad immediately off the jump that he literally almost never saw playing time, compared to just being disappointing. Hope we can avoid that level of extreme NIL waste in the future.
Booth committed around mid-April, a time when we had about 3 guys left on the team. If you squint hard, you see a 6'10" kid with a lot of tools... I just don't think he wants it as bad as a lot of the guys... Growing up rich ruins some kids.

I wonder if their NIL deals require them to be part of the team until after the final day of the tournament in order to receive payment?

That would seem to be prudent so players don't just take the $$ and bounce mid-season.
