Come College Basketball GIF by NCAA March Madness
Absolutely not. I don’t want this loser anywhere near our program.

I don’t know if Beard would leave for UI. McCasland would be great, but I don’t know if he would leave either. Maybe Josh being the AD would help though. I think Illinois will get players regardless, but just need a coach that can keep them.

He might considering some of our bigger donors are closing their checkbooks if staff changes aren’t made

There are mistakes and then there is hitting your wife. F him. I don’t care how much he would win with us I don’t want him associated with our program.

People make mistakes. I know all of the posters who made negative comments have skeleton free closets, however I can't sleep sometimes for all the rattling.
Yeah, the sky is not falling, and no big changes are gonna happen. (No sarcasm intended here - stating what I believe to be the truth).

I’d want Mark Byington at Vanderbilt in the list. I think he’s done a wonderful job the last few years at JMU and Vanderbilt.

Hell no. Give me someone raw with less success. Get expensive assistants next to him.
I disagree completely. We should not be a raw coach destination we should be a proven-success-next-step-up coach destination. If we're truly a top basketball program, our coaches should be poached from other power conference schools, let them deal with making the mid-major coaches prove themselves.

If we're actually not a top basketball program, then that's a different story.

This is not the coaching cycle I would want Brad to leave in. Who the heck would we find right now that would be better than him?

Cue Indy…lol
Anybody who said the guy at Florida now (Golden) was a household name at San Fran would be lying. Despite his creepiness, he just got a traditionally sucky team to the Final 4. The coaching fraternity knows who the good ones are. I’m not worried should the occasion arise.

You don't think Whitman could convince the University Board to hire Beard? C'mon now. He'd be one helluva good coach to land, and it's all about winning.

If Florida is traditionally sucky I would hate to hear what you think of our program. Since 2000: 9 Elite 8s, 5 Final 4s, a runner up and 2 titles. Find me an Illini fan that would be disappointed with that.

This is one of the dumbest takes possible. That dude is one of the best coaches in college basketball. What in the world?!?! 😂😂😂

Regardless of two potential spots that could open up on our staff, my understanding is we have one we will fill this offseason to replace Anderson, correct? Will this happen soon?
Some of the podcasts have mentioned how happy the staff is with Kwa Jones, so my concern has been they're buttering us up for the announcement that he's a permanent hire.

New Mexico has hired UC San Diego head coach Eric Olen to replace Richard Pitino. Olen guided the Tritons for 12 seasons, making 4 D-II tournament appearances and the school's first D-I tournament appearance this year in its first year eligible as a D-I program.
