Love DGL. But at end of day he was an undersized 6'1 guy who is more of a combo than a true PG. Wasn't a particularly good shooter and lacked consistency on both ends of the floor. Against high level comp got exposed on defense despite trying to play high energy/pressure on the ball. He showed some great offensive flashes throughout this year. Given his athletic ability he has a chance to really thrive as a scorer in more of a mid-major/low high major (MWC) type league imo. Hope he goes and kills it.

I would love to see DGL drop down a level. Maybe an Illinois State or Indiana State. I think he would really thrive there. Not sure a 6’1 off guard can play a lot of minutes at a high division 1. Still loved the kid and I hope he has success wherever he lands.
I don't think he needs to drop down a level to thrive. I think he can showcase himself in a middling program of a power 5 conference like a Georgia, TCU, or Stanford.

With ND struggling and being from Indiana I wonder about the Irish. I am not an Irish fan at all but thats the type of thing could see.

My prediction? Against Illinois Morez will either sit for most of the game or foul out. Kid is a foul machine. Pretty easy to get fouls out of him.

That is a huge drop imo that you are suggesting. I think something more like VCU/Dayton or top tier American Conference team.

Or if he’s willing to go out West like a Utah State/UNM/SDSU

What is this staff’s plan for Ty? Is he going to be a guard now that he has all this weight off or is going to put it all back on and be a 3 again?

This is how you leave a team... best wishes to DGL and hopes that he can find a team where he can play a bigger role and inspire with his energy.

He should transfer to Ball State, play exclusively point guard and work on his point guard skills and defense. If he improves enough he could transfer up to another power conference team but probably best he plays his last two years at a mid-major. He is making a mistake if he transfers to another power conference team like Louisville.

I don’t think he needs to drop down to as far as the other poster said, but I think he’d be much better served if he went to a top level mid major. There he could certainly have a strong possibility of carving out a 25-32 minute role. He might also get a chance to play the point some and expand his skills.

I know people love him in here, but we’re talking about a 6-1 off guard who is a career 41% shooter and 25% from 3. Reasonable chance at a middling P5 school his role only increases slightly. Move down a bit, increase chances of starting and having a big role, and build up that resume.

Who you taking in a best 4 out of 7 series: Team A composed of 5 Kenny Battles against Team B composed of 5 Ty Rodgers? All in their prime.
Probably obvious given my handle but Kenny and it's not close. Does NOT mean I don't love Ty too!

Catching up on the Morez to Michigan news. This is going to end one of two ways.

1) The most likely situation, where Morez eventually plays the exact same role he plays here, his dad gets his underwear in a bunch, and they look for another school next year.

2) Dusty lets Morez play how he wants, which will make Michigan a worse team because he's not a stretch 4 in any way.

Don't really see another scenario than these two. Morez and his dad really seem to have some misguided expectations about exactly the type of player he is. I'm not going to worry too much more about this. They made their decision, and they clearly are more concerned with self-centered motivations.
I don't think dad will get his underwear in a bunch, because he and it are full of :poop:, and this was all about the $$$.

Interesting. They needed more from both him and Colvin this year and now both are gone.

I guess they will try and replace both via the portal but will be interesting who they can afford. If the numbers being thrown around for Smith are accurate not sure how much they will have left, particularly because I am sure TKR will want his piece as well.
