On the nepotism case. Didn't Tyler start (or maybe just played some extended minutes) some games here and the reasoning was, "because he knew Brad's offense?" Sorry, but he was a D3 player, lol.

As for coaching, I'm okay with him being our 5th assistant for the price, but not coaching our offense... However, the other two should be replaced... Are Geoff and O okay with the situation?
From a job security and salary raise perspective they should be.

Hot head imo, but this team could use some attitude.
Yep, but don’t overcorrect where all your worries become off the court.

Just need strong leader with basketball skill to guide the rest, imo. Easier said than done but my point being one alpha (the right one) could steer the team (however it will look) right.

That was missing last year. The two that went to the nba draft would have been it for next year’s team.

I’m criticizing the offensive performance this year …

Stop shooting so many 3s when it isn’t working …
And get your lottery pick to value the ball/possessions. Shooting 3’s and turnovers seemed to be more of a Brad issue though. At least from his press conference responses.

It only looks bad when we are losing. He’s mostly winning.
The record speaks for itself, true. From a distance, anyway.
We had some great wins, like Arkansas, Oregon, Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana.
And no Q3 or Q4 losses (altho that was kinda lucky)
But not much success against the top teams, like Tennessee, MSU, Duke, Alabama, or even Kentucky and Maryland.

Ability on the court doesn’t translate to coaching

Agree completely, but I was stating nepotism to play D1 and coach D1 without the qualifications really. And again, I really don't hate the 5th assistant spot for the price. But, I agree, many of the best coaches were mediocre players.

Not only do we already have a Top 50 transfer portal commit, it is the twin brother of someone already on the team with firsthand knowledge of how the program operates.

Claims of tension in the Whitman/Underwood marriage have been habitually connected to open jobs elsewhere and absolutely zilch, zero, nothing has come of them in any concrete sense.
That is some Class-A cherry-picking there Gritty. Always thought you were knowledgeable enough to not need to mislead like that.

A good coach (and/or team leader) will make his team better than the sum of its parts.
It just doesn't seem to me that our team has been playing anywhere near the sum of its parts.

I dunno, maybe my indulgence in Orange KoolAid has me over-estimating our players?
But KJ and WR are top-10 in the draft, Tomi not far behind, and KB was possibly our best player at the end of the year.
So I don't think I am over estimating anything, am I?
I see three freshmen there. I think you are spot on about needing a good team leader, on the floor, not the bench. You could see it coming last year with all the new faces and your best players from overseas. Seemed like Boswell took the role late in the season and I hope that continues. I think of all the Kentucky teams with multiple 5 star freshmen that won two championships in 26 years and maybe that's why. Lack of experience. So I don't feel so bad about last season, you have to admit they could be a hell of a lot of fun to watch.
