“College” basketball is now just an NBA… with the added charm of asking for donations.
The added charm of donations is actually the reason it will never be like the NBA because it cannot be controlled with the salary cap. If the NCAA comes down hard with a salary cap then teams like Kentucky and North Carolina will just use donations and it will go back to the way it was with under the table money.

No good reason to drag this out. Don't you want whatever team you commit to to be able to land complimentary players around you that set you up for success and team success?

Keep in mind UNC recruited Andrej out of HS and probably last portal cycle as well... he may not need to visit there as its likely he already has (no idea if he actually has or not, just throwing that out there)

Sort of seems like our shift from domestic to foreign recruiting is tied to the monetary competition for recruits. Imports seems to cost less/have less suitors. Of course, with tariffs looming, all bets are now off. 😂

Decision.
We(Illinois fans) don't have a trusted history of being right on our prognosticators, so let's lean on next week and hope:

1)They Bears address both lines with their second round picks and

2)The Cubs take 2 of 3 versus Philly.

Then, let's reconvene when this latest version of a decision comes down or hope news comes out sooner.

To be fair, what's the point of a fan(short for fanatics) forum, if those who aren't passionate aren't part of it. If it wasn't for irrational, passionate, demanding and strung out fans across the country....NIL wouldn't be in existence because they wouldn't be throwing money at each sports institution and it would have been accepted that free tuition would have been sufficient compensation for student athletes.

It's the fans and TV(again, the fans) that drive this whole ordeal, so can't get mad when they take it to a ridiculous level.
I can be a fanatic without having a mental breakdown over a kid's college choice. I learned my lesson from Cliffmas.

Louisville, Indy, 0440 and DBH got out of Dodge. Lol. Don't blame them. All chips were pushed into the middle of the table on Wednesday. They went big and I respect that! Go all in and see what card gets flipped on the flop. For those who are into Texas Hold 'Em, that comp will make more sense.

FL has been left to drop the news, resulting in the regression of the positivity.

I def trust sources that come from outside the program more than those that are internal.

Too often I’ve been told that the coaches have felt they were getting a player and then the player goes elsewhere. One of the most egregious I remember was Luke Zeller. He wasn’t the biggest impact player, but I remember being told that we were absolutely sure he was headed our way and then he went to Notre Dame.

There’s a long list. Hope this one is different but it feels the same.

Didn’t know the previous UNC connection. That does add to the intrigue.

With UNC adding a transfer wing you would think they don’t feel confident.

Flip a coin.

Illinois peeps say today. UNC peeps say next week.
Keep in mind it’s not UNC peeps saying it’s next week. It’s Travis Branham who spoke to Andrej or his side.

Also, the UNC IC writer Ben Sherman who spoke to Andrej last year when Andrej was seriously considering transferring to UNC called him yesterday and spoke with him. He recognized the number calling him and spoke w the Ben.
