Will Hamer have an “Im back” type of announcement? Have a few different hats on a table with his parents by his side?
I'm still on the "0-1 coaching changes made this offseason" train, meaning I expect it to be Kwa's replacement, not Hamer.

Young assistants just like young players will grow and develop. There is obviously something BU sees in Hamer that would make him stick with him. And just maybe he will improve.
The only reason this would be a hot take is because of the large amount of delusion that exists here.

There is absolutely zero precedent for a coach to be fired following a 22-13 season, NCAA 6 seed, win a tournament game while suffering the most injury/illness we've had in recent memory.
Seriously, what can we point to that makes this seem feasible in any shape or form? Kyle Neptune had a winning record at Villanova, but the year he was fired they didn't even win 20 games or make the tournament. Some thought Ben Johnson got a raw deal at Minny but go look and his record was 50-77 there. Kevin Keatts was fired from NC State, but this was after a 12-19 season and aside from the Cinderella F4 run a couple years ago his tenure was really poor there, overall. Maybe you want to point to a guy like Rodney Terry, but he was never going to be the guy at Texas long term and they didn't even win 20 games nor make it out of the first four, went 6-12 in conference, I can go on and on.
There's no precedence to fire a B1G co-winningest head coach over 6 year period, absolutely none, zilch, zero. It just isn't going to happen unless the wheels come off entirely. 22-13 with a 6 seed and a tourney win is not going to result in BU getting fired, 100% bottom line, mic drop, whatever the cool kids are saying nowadays.

agree he probably won't be fired, but it is possible that he leaves for another opportunity if he loses the donors and the fanbase. being fired is not the only way a coach may leave a program.
I do regret not responding to your question re: data points with Illinois and Josh Whitman firing basketball coaches though. John Groce was fired in March 2017. Go look at his tenure/record at Illinois and compare to Brad.
