Buyout went up. He isn't going anywhere

Based on what I’ve read on the board lately, I’m guessing it must’ve gone down like this:

Josh: Brad, have a seat.

Brad: What’s up, Josh?

Josh: Look, I’ll be frank. It’s Hamer. Either he goes or you all go.

Brad: What are you saying?

Josh: I’m saying you must fire Zach if you want to keep your job. This is non-negotiable.

Brad: (smirks confidently) Well… everything’s negotiable.

Josh: Not this.

** Brad sits up in his chair and leans in toward Josh**

Brad: Oh Josh. Sweet, lovable, pathetically naive Josh. Do you REALLY think you’re calling the shots here? Do you REALLY think the donations coming in day after day, millions after millions, are a result of YOUR efforts? YOUR hard work? I snap my fingers and all the NIL money coming in for Kylan or Tomi or Andrej goes POOF! Gone like a fart in the wind. (Makes fart noise). But don’t worry… they’ll get it. IF they follow me to Texas or Arizona… or BYU. And it’s not just the NIL. Who do you think delivers the donor dollars for your precious little football program? Bret? Give me a break! I have the billionaire’s ears. I control the purse strings. I say the word and we bring in a General Manager at twice your salary. Then there’d be no real need for an athletic director, would there?

** There’s awkward silence **

Brad: Now… how bout we both play nice and you sign this six year extension for me…. And this five year deal for Zach. Let’s call him “Associate Head Coach in Charge of all Things Defensive.” Or I could just call in a few of my Balkan friends and they could - ahem - “explain things”…to you. Capisce?

** Josh reluctantly signs. He knows he’s been defeated **

Brad: Thank you. Now… will there be anything else?

Josh: Well… there is next week’s mandated seminar on nepotism, but I’ll just go ahead and mark you down as “having already attended.”

Apparently, JW forgot his conversation with the "insider" to the state to the right of us about how BU was having to fire 2 coaches minimum and how the donors were pulling their money from the program.

I love being being bounced in the first weekend. But having players who are here for a year drafted in the NBA AND 20 wins season. That’s how we all judge college basketball programs.
Not final fours appearances nope not worth it, National tile appearances or championships nope forget about it.
Give me the Kentucky model but without the final fours and nattys.

Sad, sad, sad. Pity the poor posters who want him fired. Pity the poor posters who are sure he is going to bolt to another job. Sniff, sniff.

Not trying to be snarky here...but wasn't there some talk on this board last fall when it was made known that TA was basically taking a leave from the team, that Brad had someone in line or in mind but would have to wait for that person to become available before announcing??? Just wonder (if that was the case) is this person still the one BU is pursuing or did that ship sail????

Tyler has been rewarded well based on his prior experience. He is also son to a multimillionaire.

Maybe Brad keeps Hamer as protection for Tyler. If there's one thing Hamer does it makes us appreciate Tyler more.
