Perfect hire. A player development coach with connections is what we needed. Now let's see if we can find a defensive guru. I don't know if this guy needs to wear so many hats.

I think that he's referencing people that dig into Tyler Underwood and Hamer, since they are on the "up and coming" coaches list as well.
The hope was probably for a more experienced name to step in.

A lot of talk about this years team not having EVERY box checked. Who does? And those that seemingly do, how many win the natty? Get as close to you can to checking the boxes, Coach, and hope for the best.
