Does anyone know if it finishes in a tie do they go to the non counting 5th score each day or actually do a playoff?

Fioroni birdies 18 to tie Voois. Jackson parred 18 to keep the tie with OSU.

Meanwhile, Hunter Thomson is -9 thru 12. Individual title is his if he can continue his good play.

Agree. I would think they have to award the regional championship to someone though and not have co-champions. Whatever.

Dinner is served. UNC's fifth guy in the rotation was +26 collectively across 3 rounds (two different players across the 3 rounds), and the other four together were +7. Makes for a long plane ride home for them...

Will give the Illini faithful in NC something to chat about with friends. :LOL:

A brutal result for the Tar Heels. Just never got it going and then had a good run today only to fall short.

Their sub today and shot 86 on day 1 is a Naperville kid. Small offered him.

Other storylines:

Hunter Thomson (Michigan) won the individual at -10, earning himself a ticket to La Costa. Congrats to Hunter and Coach Barlow!

David Ford (UNC), #1 in the PGA U standings, finished T11. His season is now over, so the battle for #1 (and the PGA Tour card) just got interesting. #2 Brendan Valdes of Auburn, who finished T5 in his regional, probably still needs a strong showing next week to close the gap. Three others in the top 15 (#5 Sebastian Moss, #9 Algot Kleen, #13 Justin Hastings) also failed to qualify for La Costa, which could give Jackson a path back into the top 10 (and a Korn Ferry Tour exemption). The next standings won't come out until Wednesday 5/21.

Been doing plenty of chatting already. All the Docs, Dentists, and bankers at the local country clubs have to be disappointed. Maybe a few african studies grads as well.

The NS State fans fared even worse, but way more fun rubbing it into the UNC fans.
