So according to this metric we have only a 17% chance of having 2 or fewer losses in conference play? Pffft! Michigan and USC are perennially overrated, especially USC. Can’t wait to prove them all wrong.

One flaw that the advanced metrics have for college football is how much weight recruiting rankings tend to have in the pre-season formulas. Because recruiting rankings aren’t that accurate. So according to this metric we have only a 17% chance of having 2 or fewer losses in conference play? Pffft! We have 11! Let's gooooDo we have a demon - possessed tackling machine on defense this year ?

Update 2025 record projections for Big Ten football teams, per ESPN FPI
A look at how the ESPN Football Power Index projects the records for every Big Ten team in the 2025 college football season.duckswire.usatoday.com
Watching Bret's interview, I caught myself nodding in agreement with a lot of things he was saying. This man can get me hyped up just by talking normally.
Meh, Brother Pru. The bigger the chip on our shoulder, the sweeter it will be when BB and the boys embarrass the skeptics.what a load of horse-s&*t......................ranks us # 10 in the B$G with a 10-2 record.........
The stats (below) show the SEC seriously underperformed against B1G last year.
Plus a guy (Pavia) who transferred from NM State to Vandy, and then went 7-6 last year with an unusually overachieving team, slagging the BT is rich on its own. I mean, it's not like the BT did well in the playoff last year or anything. lolThe stats (below) show the SEC seriously underperformed against B1G last year.
Does the SEC avoid a 9-game schedule and in-season B1G games because they really believe they’re superior? Or do they see the data and choose to avoid contests that would tarnish their image?
Let's analyze his comments just a little bit to see if the facts back them up:
> Big Ten went 6-4 against the SEC in 2024.
> The Big Ten had four College Football Playoff teams. The SEC had three.
> The Big Ten had two teams in the final four and won the national championship. The SEC had one team in the final four and didn't appear in the title game.
> The Big Ten had four teams in the top eight for strength of record, including Ohio State and Oregon in the top two spots. The SEC had two teams, with Georgia the highest at four.
Rage bait and clicks?#19. All part of ESPN's conspiracy to underrate us in some rankings and rank us appropriately in others.

To be completely fair, it looks like the rankings are by ESPN's projected records, not their own personal ranking. Seems like they're trying to directly debate those records.what a load of horse-s&*t......................ranks us # 10 in the B$G with a 10-2 record.........
