To me, this works in his long term favor. KJ is nowhere near NBA ready. He's not overly athletic, he didn't shoot the ball particularly well and his decision making with the ball was poor.
A team that's going to draft him will be leaning on his size and creativity and will need to give him time to figure things out. Good teams, that don't need an immediate impact player, can cast a much wider net and will draft him.
Keep in mind, TJ went what....26th or 27th? He was FAR more NBA ready than KJ. Everyone that gets drafted in the first round are incredible players. There's a very, very fine line between 15-30.
