Turns out, NBA teams value guards that can dribble facing the basket while being defended.

I mean, honestly- I didn't think KJ should go lottery, he was just too wildly inconsistent. Too much risk for a lottery pick IMO.

Was KJ expected to fall out of the lottery? I haven’t been following draft talk as much this season.

I mean the NBA scouts did their DD. KJ was never a lotto pick. I put my money where my mouth was all year. Too many turnovers…

I was hopeful but we as a fan base rarely have our guys go were most forecast them. The last ones to go as high expected are Dwill and Meyers. I hope Will is a first rounder and made the correct choice.

Anyone on here still think Queen traveled on that game winner against Colorado State? :p
He absolutely did. Unfortunately, too many refs will not call it unless you drag your pivot foot over 12 inches. Steps seem to not matter at all anymore, especially in the NBA that will allow up to five before blowing the whistle.

I recall vividly, before the pros were allowed to play in the Olympics, where the USA team had a very difficult time avoiding travel calls. The rule stated that the ball has to contact the floor before a second step was completed. None of them could do it as they would all carry the ball for 2.5 to 3.5 steps. The refs were trained, ready, and waiting to blow the whistle. IIRC, that was the year the Russians kicked us off the throne....or maybe the prior games.

Should have stay another year. Both would have been top 10 picks. It was hard after watching the year to see them both be called early first rounders. Just didn’t see them better than Ayo or TSJ. Both 2nd rounders.

To me, this works in his long term favor. KJ is nowhere near NBA ready. He's not overly athletic, he didn't shoot the ball particularly well and his decision making with the ball was poor.

A team that's going to draft him will be leaning on his size and creativity and will need to give him time to figure things out. Good teams, that don't need an immediate impact player, can cast a much wider net and will draft him.

Keep in mind, TJ went what....26th or 27th? He was FAR more NBA ready than KJ. Everyone that gets drafted in the first round are incredible players. There's a very, very fine line between 15-30.

History repeating itself. When was the last time someone went as high as most thought? Meyers, DWill. Nick and Kendall. I do think TSJ would've uf not for the bs. I doubted this year guys being lottery . It's a world sport there are always a couple guys we don't know of.
