I live in South Carolina now, so this weekend will be only the second Illini event my son has ever attended. The first one? The MSG massacre back in February.

I'm praying for a big win here so the poor kid doesn't get his heart broken again. His buddies are already trying to get him to root for Clemson or USC, so I need Bert to bring this one home for my sanity.

Illini - 31
Duke - 13

Oh, yeah. Am looking forward to a stringent palate cleanser on Saturday to make up for the abomination we sat through at the Garden in late Feb.

I'm also looking forward to an entertaining, competitive game. The high temp is forecast to be 90 on Saturday with blessedly low humidity. Alas, the forecast high on Sunday is 78. Maybe the weather gods can push that forward a day. I don't want to get greedy but seeing the Illini win while not melting in the torrid NC sun would be nice.

I believe we will pound the ball to set up the passing game while wearing their D out. Our line should blow holes in their D. Make Duke a one dimensional team. If Elon can run against them, we should be able to as well. Control the clock and win 27-10.

Poor kid has to drive by 11 "A State Divided" USC/Clemson stores on his way to school. Soo sad

Duke is a very solid program with a great coaching, give me us tho 24-23. Think we have our struggles early but we are a better, deeper team.

Duke doesn't lose at home often (recently).

2024 - One loss to SMU in OT - 27-28
2023 - One loss to ND - 14-21 - did beat #9 Clemson

If Illinois beats the spread, it will be a very good win and a very positive outlook for the season.
To be fair, Duke hasn't beat another ranked team (other than Clemson) anywhere since 2016. Most of their home victories have been agains pretty mediocre ACC teams (and Northworstern).
