Who are you rooting for in the Michigan @ Oklahoma game? I see 2 ways to look at it....

1) Root for Michigan because it makes the B1G look better.

2) Root for Oklahoma because a Michigan win makes it more likely they get to 10-2 and steal a playoff spot from us.

I'm rooting for Michigan because screw the SEC. They still have games @Nebraska, @USC, and of course tOSU. I'm hoping they win this one and pick up some L's down the road.

OU can steal a spot in the playoff just as much as UM can, and the conference that looks stronger overall is more likely to get more teams in. Therefore, gotta root for Michigan.

Yep, I am rooting for Michigan here. Besides, Michigan still plays at USC, at Nebraska and OSU at home, and OU has more than a few likely losses on its schedule. It sounds cliche, but if we take care of OUR business, we will have a great shot at the CFP ... no need to worry about others. So, I'm rooting for the continued humbling of the SEC.

I obviously do not care for either team, but from a conference reputation standpoint, a Michigan win would be better for the ratings of the conference. The reality is that both teams can steal a spot from us at 10-2.

I stand in the more indifferent category (maybe slight rooting interest for Michigan). However, if the game were at the Big House, I would be 100% behind OU, as there is nothing better than watching an upset crowd in Ann Arbor. As far as I am concerned, Illini handle business tomorrow and nothing else matters too much.

A quick #TeamRankingsMatter consideration...

#23 Indiana - If we can get past Duke and don't stub our two at home vs. WMU, our game vs. Indiana could be a truly hyped one, and I want the Hoosiers ranked as high as possible when we take them down. Indiana is VERY unlikely to lose before they host us, but here are some games for the teams just in front of them to hopefully let the Hoosiers slide up a few spots:

#20 Ole Miss at Kentucky ... Teams sometimes don't get penalized TOO much for losing on the road, but Ole Miss is a pretty heavy favorite. I could see them sliding at least 3 spots, allowing IU to jump in front.
Baylor at #17 SMU ... I think Indiana probably hops over SMU if Baylor wins this one, especially considering what (unranked) Auburn did to Baylor in Week 1.
Iowa at #16 Iowa State ... Would #23 Indiana really be able to leapfrog #16 Iowa State if the Hawkeyes win?? It could be a stretch, but let's remember that ISU's current claim to fame is winning a close game vs. a now-unranked Kansas State team, and Iowa is not receiving a single vote in the AP Poll ... so it's possible.

I know the CFP Committee won't be treating the AP Poll as gospel or even particularly informative ... but hey, it's always nice to have a big game be even more hyped because both teams are ranked, and it's always exciting to get a "top 25 win." Right now, we only play #1 Ohio State and #23 Indiana out of the current top 25. Our other RV opponents include #29 USC and #40 Duke.

Very good chance USC is in the top 25 by the time we play them. Would be surprised if they aren't 4-0.

No different than Texas / OSU last week. I must have changed my mind a half-dozen times pregame.

But as soon as it started, I was all this. Well perhaps a stronger first word...🤬

Yeah, the reason "#23 Indiana" is in such big font is because I originally had another list of games that could help get USC ranked. :ROFLMAO: However, a lot of the teams in front of USC are playing nobodies this week and I didn't think there would be much movement. As you mentioned, though, I think a 4-0 USC team will DEFINITELY be ranked, especially considering how close they are now.

I can never “root” for Michigan.

But I can simply be okay when OU implodes. As is tradition.

Also, who else keeps forgetting OU is even in the SEC? Show of hands?

I bet the SEC forgets sometimes…

Rooting for Michigan and Iowa both.

Us, and those 2 games seem to be just about it in terms of intrigue.

It really feels like we are their Super Bowl this year. As you said - not much on their schedule to be excited about until we come to town.

hmmm. don’t know what to make of this northwestern game. don’t love that northwestern looks at least as good as we did against the ‘necks

I know. It could also be that Western got so demoralized last week that they are rolling over. But I won't feel as good about last week if N'wstrn hangs as many or more on them. Either way, we will know tomorrow what we got.
