They were all in against Duke as well. No sense being in game. I guess depth isn't that great and they wanna Redshirt all the young guys? I don't know, 2 weeks in a row. Absolutely idiotic to be up that much, 2 weeks and still playing. Indiana lost hell of a RB1 doing same crap.

I think we should all feel good about the fact that we are arguing or discussing on which ranked team is better? These programs have like 8 win floors right now.

Tell us that 10 years ago.
Oh, I agree. I just think that, even if it is a minority of both fan bases, I have seen WAY more arrogance that shouldn't logically exist from the IU crowd. In fact, I think most overconfidence on the Illini side is just an emotional reaction to that, and the vast majority of us always thought this would be a tough game. Meanwhile, I have seen more than a few Indiana fans online tossing around 3-score win predictions like it isn't even a remotely hot take.

Point is, and this plays into your post, both of our fan bases should be excited right now but also pretty damn humble given what we have been through.

Oh my God, you guys, we got ourselves a game changer! Illinois' defense is currently tied for #10 in the nation for team sacks. A Cignetti-coached Indiana team has NEVER beaten a team ranked in the top 15 for sacks!!!!!!!

Top 15 in Sacks
L at #2 Ohio State
L vs. #14 Notre Dame

Not Top 15 in Sacks
W vs. #20 Michigan
W vs. #44 Nebraska
W at #80 Northwestern
W at #84 UCLA
W vs. #84 Purdue
W vs. #98 Washington
W at #108 Michigan State
W vs. #114 Charlotte
W vs. #114 FIU
W vs. #128 Maryland
W vs. (#NR FCS) Western Illinois

Last year, Illinois beat #10 South Carolina!!!!!!!!!!!! Should Indiana even bother showing up?
Welp, that's it, no point in even playing the game then. We're 4-0 now...bring on the Trojans! See you all at Homecoming!

How big of a loss is their RB in this game?
from the numerous podcasts I have watched he was their 3rd rated RB , although he is noted far behind the 2nd rated RB who is a transfer from twerp-land named Hemby............

The general predictions of the many podcasts boiled down 50/50 pick'em although the spread is now loosiers a 6 point favorite....

I didn't love them playing up big, but at some point you have to play 4 quarters and be ready and tested.

We lost Kaedin Feagin last year in practice.

WE sHOuLdn'T pRaCTice!!
100%. You have to get guys conditioned for a full game. It could have just as easily happened in the other quarters. It was likely his last series. Just bad timing.

I always thought we'd add his name to the athletics admin building, Bielfeldt-Bielema Athletics Center.

Then we'd call it Biel Square(d) for short.

Then again I tend to overthink and really stretch for a bad pun, so there's that. 🙃

I had a crazy dream last night! I was swimming in an ocean of orange soda. Turns out it was just a Fanta sea.

I saw a tweet this week that said Mendoza passer rating is like 2nd in against no blitz, and 3rd against zone coverage. Those numbers drop significantly (like 55+ I can’t remember exactly) when blitzed or against man defense.

Hope Henry has seen some of this in the tape

I know nothing…but I told my wife that looked like turf toe or high ankle sprain for Scott. 2nd opinions are usually never good. Damn.

If you plan to listen to the game on the radio, be aware that Brian Barnhart will not be there (his daughter is getting married). Scott Beatty has the call.
