Pearl is the perfect amount of slimy to go into politics. Im sure he sees that coaches are held more accountable and to a higher standard than politicians so thought why the hell not. The thought of him makes me queasy.

The problem would be getting them enrolled to play in November and December unless the school is operating in trimesters or quarters.

That being said if I had won that Powerball I would currently be offering huge NIL deals to Keyshawn Hall, Freeman, and Pettiford because it would be hilarious to ruin his kids first season(I think Hall would actually be a very good fit at the 3/4 potentially Freeman as well).

Something that just occurred to me. What if Steven Pearl is just absolutely awful at the job. Just completely implodes the program. But at the same time Bruce Pearl's political ambitions come to fruition. Would Auburn actually be able to fire Steven Pearl in that scenario, even if they really really want to? They're a public university in Alabama, whose junior Senator would be the coach's dad, and whose Governor would be the coach's dad's friend. It would be absolutely hilarious if Steven Pearl drove Auburn basketball into the ground and Auburn was stuck with him for the next decade.

The residents of Alabama elected Tommy Tuberville, whose main residence is in Florida. Pearl should be a shoo- in for what ever elective office he wants. Furthermore, he is buddies with some Southern Baptist preacher there. As one of the other posters said good riddance. We will see how the nepotism route to head coaching works at Auburn.
