I can’t believe Mihailo, Brandon Lee & Ty are getting sprinkled into this
…and Tomi?I can’t believe Mihailo, Brandon Lee & Ty are getting sprinkled into this
I couldn't agree more wagler really opened my eyes about him tonight I see why daddy Brad has been raving about him i thought it was the typical Daddy Brad hes going to be 1 of our best players fluff that end up struggling. But this kid can play has a offensive game way above he was ranked coming out of high-school he had a turnover or 2 I wish we could've gotten back but what Freshmen cant you say that about i thought he showed some true grit and will in this game.im truly glad hes on our team.ILLWe're good. Very very very good. Stojakovic was absolutely incredible. His offense was phenomenal but he eon the game late with his defense. Kylan's leadership and defensive effort was phenomenal. Wagler with another exceptional game. What a great great great team win.
I kind of glossed over the block in an earlier comment but man that was an incredible defensive play that helped avoid a potential 5 point swing and huge momentum shift. Not only the offensive game, but getting to make a game winning block like that against a Top 10 opponent in front of your dad. That's special. Just special. Wish they had a video clip of his dad live when he did that. That's a memory that'll stick with you
That would apply to nearly every team fouling while attempting to stop the clock and extend the game though and it's never been called. The rule says you can't grab them, even when everyone fully knows what is happening. If this call was a one off, then it was a bad call. If the refs start calling it consistently this season, then it was a good (correct) call.
SO CLOSE! "Stojakovic scores 23 and blocks late 3 attempt as No. 14 Illinois beats No. 11 Texas Tech 81-77"Not only the offensive game, but getting to make a game winning block like that against a Top 10 opponent in front of your dad. I'm not sure about that. Reviewing the tape, when Toppin got in the paint and went for a layup, our players backed-off and didn't even attempt to alter the shot..There were no fouls on these layups..3 points attempts were the same (22 vs 22). Texas Tech had more shot attempts in the paint.
Texas Tech had 20 assists.
IL had 5.
Stats don’t lie. Texas Tech shot 4 FTs for the entire game.
Toppin himself had 25 Shot Attempts. He shot 1 FT for the entire game. I’ve never seen an offensive player attempt 25 shots and shoot 1 FT. And it’s not like those shots were outside shots. He attempted 2 threes.
Reverse these team stats and this thread would be talking about the worst officiating in years especially if it had been in TT’s home court
Not if you don't grab hold of the player.. That would make every take foul at the end of the game a flagrant foul.
Btw, we're not saying we LIKE the rule or the fact that a foul was called there. Just pointing out that a flagrant CAN be called if you grab a hold of the player. So don't do it.From the NCAA site: A flagrant 1 foul is two shots and the ball and that means excessive in nature or unnecessary or avoidable, uncalled for or not required by the circumstances of the play.
I suspect this fell under the "not required" clause since Boswell wrapped his arms around the opponent.
In order:
1. A date with the “F YEAH!” gif girl
2. Papa Dels deep dish
3. Old Orchards
4. Monicals
And I love Monicals.
I would eventually put Wags in that group as well. He is getting smoother at getting to the rim as well.I can't remember the last time we had 3 guard/wings that were so smooth driving to the rim. I guess it has to be 05.
In these close games, it has to be Bam and Andrej closing. I wouldn't run a play for anyone else under 3 minutes.
By definition, it’s a F1. Complain about the rule as frustrating as the call was, if Boz did not grab him, it would have been a common foul. But putting your arms around him is by definition a F1. They need to amend the rule.
I would like to see how many drives to the rim they had, because their offense was give the ball to toppin or let anderson take some deep shots. And when our defense is try to keep the ball out of toppins hands, but when he gets it, just let him score, that's how you get the discrepancy.3 points attempts were the same (22 vs 22). Great breakdown by LaTulip. Must watch four minute video. Really impressive what Boswell did against Toppin last night.I didnt post last night because it was straight to bed after getting home but what a game and a great atmosphere! Crowd was pretty loud from the jump and it seemed the players responded. A lot of nervous energy in the 2nd half when TT went on their run but it got loud again to help them get it going.
Kylan was a little messy at times on offense but man if this dude isn't a leading candidate for DPOY then people aren't actually watching. Also shout out to Ben for being REALLY DAMN GOOD on that end of the floor too. He cut off drives, he played in the post, and he rebounded like a maniac.
