So if you're here for Ben Humrichous' feelings, move on to the next post. This is basketball.

He and Jake are MVC, Ohio Valley, Big South Conference players. Period. Full stop. That's just who they are. The ONLY reason they should ever see minutes in a game like this are hitting open 3 point shots (because they can't create their own) and mop up. Ben is a passable 3pt shooter. We have enough evidence at this point at this level.
For all the talk of Ben's offseason conditioning and improvements, he had 1 rebound in 27 minutes of basketball. All 6'9" 240 lbs of pure Fletch forward.

One rebound.

They have absolutely no business playing over Mirk, Wagler, Petro, and Andrej, unless serious foul trouble, sending a message for 3 or 4 minutes, or injury dictates it.

They work hard, they are great teammates and great people. They do not belong on the floor for extended minutes at this level of competition.
Great post! +10!

Coaches are going to find out the hard way … They don’t run this 💩 anymore …

If you’ve got a booster paying a kid millions … You will do what that booster says …

Otherwise … You won’t have those millions next year …
Ex Cardinals manager Whitey Herzog once said that he learned early to never put the team at a competitive disadvantage when disciplining a player. Illinois was not going to beat UConn without Stojakovic. I get it that he played terrible, but I disagree with him sitting out the end of the game (unless he is hurt.) It's not like he was solely responsible for this sh** show.

Hurley’s comments are irrelevant and shouldn’t be taken seriously. No opposing coach is going to say “yeah they can’t shoot for sh*t but they swear they can and just keep chucking like idiots with poor coaching”

🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️ Dude…really?!?! I was responding to this exact quote from you:

“Make shots and this is a ball game, and that’s not a controversial statement whatsoever.”

My rebuttal could be…”so score more points and it’s a ballgame? I agree with that.” I thought we were having a conversation but whatever.

Apparently Brad said he had injuried his ankle and hadn’t practiced. Must’ve been pretty rough considering his performance today.

If I heard correctly:
The shot clock reset to 20 seconds on the prior shot, but it was over 20 and should not have dropped to 20. They decided to go back to THAT clock mistake, meaning the shot clock was two seconds too low for the next 20 seconds.
That, in turn, meant that when the clock went from 2 seconds to 20 seconds, on the SECOND clock error, it should have been at 4 seconds… allowing enough time for the miracle shot.

In other words, complete and total fairy tail to allow the shot to count.
No, their first shot was with 12 seconds on the clock, it reset to 20 correctly if even with a little lag, the second time it was due to expire at 2:11 of game time and the foul occurred at 2:10. The refs completely botched the call after spending 3 minutes reviewing the tape!!

They simply didn’t want to reverse the call and made up a reason that made no sense- it’s such a huge call they really need consequences for that. Also what was with the shot clock operator at MSG? many mistakes this game, have to get a better person doing that job- it’s not hard

Settling for mediocrity... nice approach here lol

2 out of 3 games against ranked teams you have shot poorly.

At some point...aren't you as good as you've shown yourself to be?

The three-point shooting was really bad. But equally harmful was Andrej going 0-for-5 and Petro 1-6 at the rim or in the paint. You get downhill and get there, you have to convert most of them.

I appreciate the optimism but time after time Brad has proven you wrong.
This team will continue to shoot threes at a high clip.
They will continue to look incompetent vs good competition with the occasional outlier.

Well I am nit a fan of Coach Knight but I do agree with some of his quotes. The best way to motivate often is " for bench meet !!! and !!! meet bench."
