Illini weren't ready or willing to play at a highly intense level, didn't guard and didn't make game adjustments when 3's weren't falling. "."

It’s just infuriating. Brad can’t beat good teams. We fold and I am sick of our ‘elite’ shooters failing to hit practice shots. Just charmin soft. That was not good basketball and it is more coaching than players. Embarrassing.

"failing to hit practice shots" isnt coaching. If anything, the coaching is getting you WIDE OPEN looks.

My two cents:
1. If UConn shoots threes like that, they'll never lose another game.
2. It may seem peculiar to say so, but I thought we defended the arc better than they did. We had great perimeter ball movement, leading to oh so many wide open looks. But we only made 20%. It's disheartening to move the ball with that much purpose, then come up empty.
3. Boswell was the best player on the court, and I'm including both teams. Thru hard work and belief in himself, he has become that rarest of birds--the complete player. And that for sure includes leadership. Needless to say, he does have talent.
4. I can't see things getting any easier as we go forward.
5. Many posters here are going overboard, which I expected to see. There's actually no armageddon, guys.

5 points and 1 rebound in 26 minutes is not a “strong game”.

1 rebound?
6’9” 240lbs?
Come on man.
Bad take indeed.
Ben can be a nice role player off the bench. But he has to hit open shots, and he has not really shown the ability to consistently do that in a season +. He's shooting 29% from three after the Jackson St game this year and 35% overall. This coming from a player BU called an elite shooter.

He failed to hedge on at least two screens today that the other defender failed to get over the top of, leading to easy layups. He also tried going under a screen and somehow got drug all the way to the middle of the lane giving up a wide open three.

And he does not rebound well enough to justify playing 25 minutes a game. If we have to rely on him to be a 20+ minute per game player we will continue to struggle.

I tend to agree with you, but at this point in Brad’s tenure the “this team will be amazing in mid January” conversation is getting kind of old.

They need T healthy. I actually like Z a lot, but he can't be the best of the Ivisic's. We need him healthy, we need to be playing through him more with the passing like last year, and we DESPERATELY need his shooting.

As Fonzie would say....exactamundo.

At least 10-12 of his minutes should have gone to Mirk and Andrej (unless he was injured?). The upside/ability/talent of those players is so far and above what BH has shown I can't believe we need to say it out loud.

Thought his tenure here, he's beaten plenty of good teams. The fact is this team is not as good as the everything's rosy crowd was chanting a couple weeks ago. Our preseason ranking of #15 is probably fair and w/o a healthy Tomi that's even being generous.

My only big complaint about Brad is - why insist on shooting so many 3's when you're obviously not a good 3-pt shooting team.
