Make no mistake, the entire SEC strategy is to get a plan that allows one conference to have as many spots as possible, and then use its partnership with ESPN to propaganda their way into maxing out SEC teams in the playoff every year (and thus maxing out revenue). Under their plan, you'd be seeing serious pushes for the SEC to get 8, 9, even 10 teams into the 16 team playoff every year.

The SECond Conference's mission to maximize teams will get more difficult with the leveling of the playing filed (no pun intended) when they have to start playing nine conference games starting next year.

If we get LSU Gabe should absolutely play. They have like the worst tackles in America. Put two more sacks on tape and even more bolster your draft stock.
The risk, however small, is not worth the reward. They have years of tape on him. One more game isn’t changing his draft stock.

Not saying he won’t play, but if he does, this won’t be the reason.

Gabe is most likely the only Illini who will bypass the Bowl. But who knows, he isn’t going to be drafted in the first round as he is a top 50 guy so he is a late 2 at best.

Jacas is a good candidate for the Senior Bowl, and if invited that week of practice in front of teams is infinitely more valuable to his draft stock than one more game would be. Unfortunate, but that's the reality this sport has created.

It’s looking more and more likely that we are heading to Vegas to play Utah. Iowa going to the Reliaquest Bowl and Nebraska going to Nashville.

Likely from where?

To add, I'm not saying you're wrong, as I was saying this a while back. Doesn't make sense that the Reliaquest bowl would pick us over Iowa. And Vegas gets the pick before Music City I think, so why wouldn't they pick us over Nebraska?

Seems odd, I guess. Only because doesn't the outcome of this Big 12 championship game determine what teams (specifically in the Big 12) are available to be chosen?
These are all the old Pac 12 schools who still have the ties.

Nashville it is! Love this slot - no one else plays at this time. Vegas goes up against citrus.

Bielema took this program to Tampa Orlando and Nashville where not too long ago we just wanted the worst bowl and would have said it was a success. SEC opponent is also solid again.

this is exactly how the teams should have been arranged . Make Nebraska fans fly out there and pay $1000 per day for room & food for 2. that place is $5000 - $6000 easy for air & 3 nights per couple . or more $ even
