Half of Mississippi won't be coming to see Luke not play. From ESPN:
“There will be plenty of orange in Nissan Stadium, although much of it won't be cheering for Illinois, which caps a season that began with CFP hopes, was sidetracked sharply with a 53-point loss at Indiana but still ended with wins in three of the final four regular-season contests. Illini quarterback Luke Altmyer started his career in the SEC at Ole Miss and can finish it against an SEC opponent in Tennessee, which pursued him as a transfer target this spring after Nico Iamaleava's exit to UCLA. The Vols never really recovered from their early loss to Georgia and have much to sort out on defense, which ranks 91st nationally in points allowed. Expect a lot of scoring in this one, but Tennessee prevails behind quarterback Joey Aguilar.
Prediction: Tennessee 37, Illinois 30”
Much of the orange won’t be cheering for Illinois? Rumor has it half of Mississippi is coming to the game to cheer for Illinois. Obviously hyperbole, but I think there will be more Illini fans there than EAPN is thinking.
Cool. ESPN picking against Illinois playing a SEC opponent. From ESPN:

Where have I seen this before? Oh, right…..
Doug Altenberger plans to build a Graduate hotel in downtown Champaign next year. Doubt that Parton makes an appearance. Maybe Hefner?Stay at the Graduate so Dolly Parton can watch you sleep.
(The rooms have a portrait over the bed)
(It’s weird)
Thus the need for contracts. If you’re receiving NIL, you have to commit for at least 2 yrs and you cannot opt out. Or you lose NIL if you opt out. I assume NFL contracts are similar. This has always been my contention. I mean, why wouldn’t Purdue players, for example, opt out after the 7th loss with no hopes of even making a bowl game? Some would say “that’s quitting on your team,” and I’d agree. But is it any less of a quit than opting out of the final game your teammates have worked so hard to earn?

I noticed they pick almost every B1G team to lose. Also set up the false narrative of Miami versus ND in the playoff. The narrative is 5 SEC teams over ND.Cool. ESPN picking against Illinois playing a SEC opponent.

They weren’t when I looked at tickets yesterday. They were the same price in the same location on either side.My son said tickets on Tn side are cheaper. Don't know why?
I took Bielema’s comments as a hint that Luke was playing. Maybe a fool’s hope.Half of Mississippi won't be coming to see Luke not play.

Illini0440: "Be shocked if he didn’t"REALLY hoping Luke plays
I’ve said that earlier too. After everything we’ve learned about him over the last three years, It’d be a shock to everyone, not just our insiders, if he didn’t play.Illini0440: "Be shocked if he didn’t"

That's a pretty dick summary of our season. Generally you speak favorably of teams making bowl games. That's the summary of some scrub 5-7 team that beat nobody all season but got in because others declined the bid and the highlight of their team is they have a player who might be good enough to play in the SEC. Just absolute trash writingFrom ESPN:
