I do. We don't have a guy like Brice who you could just clear out and let him create, but we're so much more balanced with legit 3-4 guys that can make plays on offense and play really decent team defense (saw a stat where we're one of the top in the country in "opponents shot distance from basket"). But as I said before I don't think we've played anyone who can challenge us in the frontcourt like you should be able to so it will be interesting to see.
I'm curious how you'll defend Mast. Most teams need to double him in the post but he's a GREAT passer so he's super deadly when teams do that. But you guys might have the dudes to frustrate him 1v1.
There's been a couple posts on here about being tired and maybe emotionally but honestly we didn't have to play our starters most of the 2nd half vs Wisconsin (crazy to type that). I think Mast and BB only played 10 min or so in the 2nd half. We pretty much subbed everyone with 7-8 minutes left. I'm not super worried about physical tiredness.
But I could see an emotional let down. Creighton is always a huge game for us and I know the players were really up for Wisconsin because they kinda handed it to us last year. So will they be up emotionally for a road game against Illinois? We'll see.
Speaking of Brice, ironically as good as he was he wasn't a great fit for Fred's offense. Brice's game was long range jumpers (and he was probably one of the best from 15 ft to ever wear a Husker uniform) but Fred's offense is all 3's and in the paint. The long range jumper is really frowned upon. Fred adapted what he wanted to do for Brice, but I think now he's operating an offense much closer to what he wants to do.
I see the game Saturday as a really good measuring stick, even more than Wisconsin. We should have an idea if we really are competitive for the top 5ish in the B1G which I'd be thrilled with.
