If anything they will fire him if the rumors he fired Moore himself without involving HR turn out to be true.

Getting the school sued would probably be worse in scUMs eyes than literally all the stuff they turned an eye to...

There are reports out there saying that Manual knew of mental issues with Moore. Plus, the school investigated the affair issue in the summer and they found nothing. Paige Shiver changed her story from the summer. I bet there were staffers who knew about this and didn’t say anything. So with the Juwan Howard crap and this mess, I could see the Michigan Board Of Trusties and the president making a move a cut bait and start over

That’s interesting that they fired Moore without HR involved. Paige Shiver will make out like a bandit as she will sue the school. I bet a ton of lawyers have already contacted her as this story will not go away anytime soon. Michigan is toast in football at this moment.

Yeah there have been previous mental health incidents.

Only makes this worse if they were accompanied by incidents where the university should have acted. If it was just mental health worries, it's a tricky situation if he hadn't done anything wrong at that point.

Good luck firing him because of a mental health illness.

Good luck firing him because, "I heard it in the locker room and read it on reddit"

Reports are she denied it until this week.

Where Michigan really screwed up was hiring him in the first place. Once he was in, you're either paying big bucks to get him out or letting this play out.

Agree with you on your points. This is a mess Michigan created.

Just saying, I would have not believed that Freeman was ND was leaving ND until this last Sunday. Quitting the bowl game makes any Freeman move to Michigan or more likely to the NFL much easier.

Why would he leave Bama?

No idea if he's leaving. At first glance, it would have to be a geographic/culture issue, not a resource issue. Alabama's NIL isn't the best but improved. It's a pressure cooker there, but so is Michigan. You could tell me that he wants to get back to the Midwest or that the culture shock of going to the Southeast hasn't warn off and I would believe it.

I think it's a general statement of priority by the police departments, saying the PD in general respects the privacy of both 1) victims and 2) the accused. Accused as a noun can be singular and plural (no such thing as "accuseds). So here both victims and accused are plural and refer to all victims and all accused.

A reasonable interpretation, but my understanding is that there are 2 victims that were threatened. Started with his wife and then he went to the gf's place.

I'm sure more sordid details will come out once the court documents start making their way into the public space. The little of online gossip I've seen, the other woman who was involved seems to be the daughter of a long time Chicago Bears scout. So this whole mess could even enter the Bears' orbit, in a weird, admittedly limited, fashion.
Yeah I'd just say it's the cognitive dissonance that some of those folks have when the head of their obsession is acting out and they're treating it like their buddy having an affair vs modern recognition of power dynamics and expectations on the highest paid state employee (in most states) not creating massive HR issues.

Yeah I think it's more so just saying that you can't read too much into the report language, not that the rumors of the wife & mistress events are unlikely.

Without being an expert, a millionaire celebrity being held overnight weekdays is typically for a serious reason..

Very true but suicidal elements would cause this too. The fact that he is danger to anyone (including himself) provides the police to hold him for up to 72 hours (time is different from jurisdiction to jurisdiction) just on that element.

more & more stuff about his online foot print is coming out . it’s not good . pretty hard to think people at UM didnt know about some of it .

If they warned him to knock it off , and he ignored them , what a fool .

Original internal investigation was closed because they said it wasnt true. Then poof, it was true

Did they say it wasn't true, which I highly doubt any report said that, or because both parties denied it and it couldn't be verfied?

And as it turns out, Michigan did do something. They forced the hand of both parties.

You can't fire the first black football coach in Michigan history because of a rumor. But you can fire a low level staffer. It takes two to get here and she was easy pickins for Michigan to cut loose. They also may told Moore he will be involved in informing her of her discharge. He knew he was cooked (or bleeped) - which started his downward spiral.

That would do one of two things. She goes away or she talks. She chose the latter. Here we are.

And Michigan gets rid of the problem in maybe the best way the possible? Because there was no perfect solution to this problem.

most people’s issues with how they handled it was timing . had they beaten OSU in The Game , and made it into cfp, this would still be not out until thr season was over .

since they lost to OSU, they waited until after signing day .

they lose credibility doing things as they do
