The real difference between Kelly and Freeman is Freeman got Nd to the playoffs last season and was probably the last team left out this season.kelly brought talent to Nd but never really succeeded there with more time
Freeman is better right now than Kelly .
Freeman is on the upswing ,
Kelly is on the downswing

Kelly was at his peak when ND hired him .

Yeah, these sort of situations bring out the worst possible reactions in the worst humans.
I'm sure more sordid details will come out once the court documents start making their way into the public space. The little of online gossip I've seen, the other woman who was involved seems to be the daughter of a long time Chicago Bears scout. So this whole mess could even enter the Bears' orbit, in a weird, admittedly limited, fashion.

lost a lot of respect for kelly with the video of him dancing and suddenly speaking with a southern accent shortly after his hiring at LSU. probably still a good coach though

Shiver saw her $58,000-per-year salary as an administrative specialist in the athletic department increase to $90,000 from 2024 to 2025, according to public records.

The change amounted to a 55.11% increase, with no discernible shift in job title or duties.

It's all on Moore if he was her boss. Changing her story doesn't matter. We have no idea what was promised or threatened during the course of the relationship.

The administration will likely treat it that way. However, it's not hard to imagine circumstances where both sides were violating policy and the administration is now picking a path forward that gets it over with and attempts to mitigate the damage. I had read some rumors of more salacious stuff which I won't post. I expect more of those details to come out if true. From a sports perspective it's pretty cut and dry --Michigan needs a new coach, and this has been a disaster that will probably get worse. The media will no doubt keep track of the story since people will want to watch the train wreck.

I don't think UM was ever sold on Moore as a coach --guy was inexplicably without a contract after he was named coach. Who does that? Felt to me like he was a placeholder who took the promotion without any leverage, and could keep recruits after the Harbaugh debacle with the pending infractions.

Am I reading this right and they are stating there are multiple victims? “Respecting the privacy of BOTH victims and the accused.” Seems like if it were a single victim they’d say “…privacy of the victim and the accused” or “…privacy of both the victim and the accused.”
I think it's a general statement of priority by the police departments, saying the PD in general respects the privacy of both 1) victims and 2) the accused. Accused as a noun can be singular and plural (no such thing as "accuseds). So here both victims and accused are plural and refer to all victims and all accused.

Tigers don’t change their stripes .
most people are who they are . Moore was given the job because it was super late in the process and UM admin couldn’t risk spoiling the post championship buzz/recruiting high

they knew then he was flawed and chose to ignore it . I highly doubt this current gal was the first one he slept with . It doesn’t matter .

they both denied it long enough to buy him the season . once signing day was over , and they had lost to OSU which kept them outta the cfp, all bets were off . his fate was sealed . he likely knew his fate Tuesday night

Freeman changed his religion when he became the coach of Notre Dame. I don't think he's going anywhere.

Notre Dame is the bluest of blue bloods. Top 5 in wins all time, top 5 in national championships. What does Michigan have that Notre Dame doesn't? Why change your life for a maybe. And let's not forget, Freeman is an Ohio State game. I'm sure Michigan is not his favorite school in the nation.

I think chances of Freeman going to Michigan are pretty close to 0.

I'd go after Cignetti (he will say no), I'd try Drinkwitz, think he will also say no, then I'd move to Clark Lea. Could be tough given Lea is from Nashville and played at Vandy, but surely he recognizes Michigan is much higher profile than Vanderbilt.

In this day and age, Michigan can no longer just amass way more talent than most of their opponents because everyone can buy players. To me, now more than ever, you need to get a coach that can lead and really knows their Xs and Os.
Vandy is spending as much in football as Michigan. Vandy is a much better job to Lea than Michigan.

Apparently Deboer isn’t realistic either. I’m not sure if optics would be great hiring from the Harbaugh tree/family.

I think Michigans version of Woodcock wrote that.
where you read that ?

imo, way too early to tell . you won’t hear an answer until they lose

Cig won’t leave IU. He’s a god there. At Michigan??? Pressure cooker.
Looks like you are right. My initial gut reaction was that Michigan had back-channeled Cignetti and Cignetti had agreed to take the Michigan job. But it actually seems like Michigan was going to fire Moore all along and they acted only after they signed their # 11 recruiting class. I don't see DeBoer leaving when he has "Bama in the playoffs. Bret needs to get Nate Marshall.

I agree. I’m sure PSU already gave him an offer to be the highest paid coach in college football. Offer probably has to be better than 6 years $100M to start a conversation with Cignetti.

Meyer would be better fit at Michigan. I’d bet he would get a scandal going within a year and retire again.
I doubt he wants to upset the OSU apple cart that much

I’m not saying ND wants to look past all his past sins , but they are hardly anything 3/4 of that board hasn’t done

my guess is , if offered market money , he would accept

we likely will never know

I don't think Moore is much of a coach. So to me, a scenario of DeBoer at Michigan and Kelly at Indiana improves Michigan and Indiana still remains in the upper 3rd of the conference. So that overall makes things worse.
I honestly don’t understand the hype about DeBoer myself. Outside of having Michael Penix Jr., he is a solid but far from spectacular coach.

I think these are fair to post here, given that they are from legitimate news sources:
