Again…purposefully waiting to fire him until after signing day doesn’t do anything. Every single one of those signees, regardless of when they fire Moore, is free to leave, just as every single player on that roster is free to leave. Signing day is irrelevant here. If Michigan was 100% that this activity was occurring, then they completely botched the timing of this firing, if anything. But, they’re also Michigan so they have a lot of inherent resources to significantly reduce the impact.
I dont think irrelevant is true. Yes, all these players can get out of these commitments but their options might be limited. If this happens two or three weeks ahead of signing it could have changed decisions.

5 star guys can call their shot. The next tier down not so much.

I've gotta say, Warde Manuel has in impressive rap sheet : Michigan's long list of scandals under Manuel

At what point do UM Alums care enough about the integrity of their institution?

As said earlier, we are fortunate to have such high integrity leadership in our Athletic Dept. In Whitman We Trust :)
For many of them, “brand integrity” = “winning a lot”. I don’t think other things bother them.

One thing about ole Lou, I'd be highly shocked if he were engaged in any such antics. Perhaps the worst head coach that ever graced a D1 sideline but he is a man of integrity.

So it doesn't look to me like there's any charges pertaining to an Assault here. Obviously still not good, and more details I'm sure will come out. But my first reaction is, this isn't *as* bad as it could've been/ maybe people thought it was rumored to be (from the severity of the charges standpoint)?

Where is Mike Thomas the AD these days? I'm sure he sees a chance to hire someone on the cheap!

This is out of pure speculation and random thoughts, probably doesn't matter in the slightest, but is it possible that Moore had something on Harbaugh to where Harbaugh helped Moore land the scUM job? Is it odd that scUM is his fire HC gig? Seems like a stretch and obviously looked like one over his tenure... Really just food for thought.

Beyond this dumpster fire of poor behavior he sitll has a show cause penalty and a suspension to serve.

The only way I see him back in football is if Harbo hires him as a consultant or something.

This is pure speculation on my part but I assume Michigan went with Moore because he's such a good recruiter. The AD figured you surround the young coach with good assistants and he grows on the job.

Actually, it's surprising how sniffy the Board of Regents apparently gets about the school's reps (and rep). I read somewhere that one of them reprimanded Rich Rodriguez for saying ain't in a presser. Not kidding.

More likely, Harbaugh knew Sherrone was a garbage coach, and that's exactly why he's not in LA right now. Harbaugh took anyone of value from Michigan when he left. Guy didn't care at all about that program, only himself, hence the cheating for several years and now being banned from the sport for decades.

This.

I think he knew Sherrone had his good qualities as a high level coach, but was acutely aware of his shortcomings and in no way was going to jeopardize his yellow brick road- paved exit to the NFL.

Harbaugh is both very competent yet also very much an a**h**e. It's been the case ever since he played for the Bears

Sherrone would rather be the HC at Michigan than an assistant in the NFL under Harbaugh.
