Mendoza is a really, really good football player.
But when he’s a interviewed, he always strikes me as the future college graduate who thinks he will ace a job interview only by telling the interviewer exactly what the last book on interviewing said would be a good answer to the question.
As he prepares for the draft, if I’m his agent I’m hiring a consultant to help Mendoza just be more natural. Leading a NFL locker room and offense is hard to do, but I don’t think it’s done by reciting a bunch of canned lines.
