Really curious with our TE recruiting. Doesn’t seem to me we’re all too active compared to other positions.

High majority of our pass catching will be between these four guys: FAU transfer, Trimble, Clement, Dixon. Very solid foundation, just hasn’t been the offense for pass catching tight ends.
well , they need someone, even if it’s not the next Cap Boso

I hope today will be more active than yesterday. The portal season is very short now and you can't waste any days. I know they are trying really hard, but we have to nail down a lot of these top targets of theirs.

It’s why I hope Feagin stays. We can use him as a receiving threat.

what ever happened to a signed contract being a legal binding document ?...........

crazy world we live in now..........it really really is...................

We could go over the provisions that are in contracts when you want to un-wind them, but let's put that aside for now for a PSA: These players are not signing employee contracts. A lot of the strife is coming from the perspective that [insert player name] has now signed a contract with my team. That is not happening.

Athletic departments (and the greater NCAA sphere) have decided they would rather have a legal disadvantage related to player rights in exchange for keeping a large piece of the financial pie.

It is the schools that do not want the players to be considered employees. If they are employees, then they would be covered by long-term disability, and in the case of severe injury, it might be for life. Back in 1979, a player for SIU (Mark Hemphill) suffered an injury that left him paralyzed from the chest down. He sued the school, claiming he was an employee because of the practice schedule and the fact that he received tuition, board and a monthly stipend (it was legal and a tiny amount). He lost that lawsuit. The school had a catastrophic injury insurance policy, but that $1 million was gone very quickly given the medical and round-the-clock care he needed. The school held Mark Hemphill Day at a game the next season as a fund-raiser. It was a sellout. More than $35,000 was raised. He bought an accessible van. He died two years later when the lift malfunctioned on a day when temperatures were freezing. It was before cellphones.

Funny thing about that is. I am just waiting for a Coach to say screw it. I'm not gonna pay a kicker or punter. I'm going four downs 99% of the time, the 1% I don't I will have my QB pooch kick. I wont need a FG kicker cause I'm going for 2 every time. F-it, and honestly, as a fan, I could jump on board with that for one season. 😂 Heck, I could see Indiana's coach doing it.

We raided the Wiscy D-Line last year. Chance to do the same with the OL?
And our D line played like we raided the players off a 5-7 team.

I don't know if we want to run it back with a 4-8 team's Oline that was only marginally better than ours in pass pro (2.46 vs 2.25 sacks per game) and generated 35 less rushing YPG?
