I think we should be looking for a better coaching staff on that side of the ball.
I'm a bit disappointed. He was a true Soph that was getting bigger and stronger. All that investment gone....
BUT HOW WE WILL REPLACE 1.5 SACKS? /sGuys - our defense wasn’t that good this year … Cost us games … I’m not losing sleep over someone leaving that had 19 tackles and 1.5 sacks …
It’s time to freaking upgrade …
Why do you trust a staff that hasn’t led a good defense in 2+ years to be able to identify and correctly deploy its players? Our version of good last year and a dominant defense version of good are two totally opposite visions....purely MO.
What did McCullom bring that can't be replaced? To be clear, I'm not saying that the loss should be ignored, but the unit, in its entirety, was awful. After, I'm assuming, hours upon hours of viewing tape by Bret and Co, I'm really confident that this staff identified issues and will not leave themselves short with a unit this vital.
That front four made a really bad defensive backfield look even worse with their inability to pressure the QB without blitzing.
Not sure if you're a Bears fan, but their last three weeks of defense has looked like what we saw all year from our boys. We can't get to the QB, so we play zone, which drove people nuts. We couldn't stop teams on 3rd down, so we'd go man and our corners would consistently get beat underneath.
It all starts with that line and I have absolutely no problem with a hockey line change.
Welcome to the new era of college football…that’s the reason am not impressed when a recruit states that they have X years of eligibility left, because you just never know how long they’re hanging around this days.I'm a bit disappointed. He was a true Soph that was getting bigger and stronger. All that investment gone....
I’m sorry but this crazy. Mccullom was really good last year.
He was the second highest graded DL after week 6… yeah. He was good. Replacing him with some rotational guy from grand valley state isn’t the answer man.Really good ? That’s a bit of a stretch…
Obviously the defense was not good and needs an overhaul but what game did it cost them? The offense was pretty poor in the losses too.Guys - our defense wasn’t that good this year … Cost us games … I’m not losing sleep over someone leaving that had 19 tackles and 1.5 sacks …

An answer you invented lolHe was the second highest graded DL after week 6… yeah. He was good. Replacing him with some rotational guy from grand valley state isn’t the answer man.
Agreed. Nobody with the d-line or lbs were really good last year imo. Some flashes by individuals, but overall, all the defections are replaceable.Really good ? That’s a bit of a stretch…

Oof... Well, I guess add 2 starter ready DTs to the shopping list
Not to mention a few stupid penalties in key situationsGuys - our defense wasn’t that good this year … Cost us games … I’m not losing sleep over someone leaving that had 19 tackles and 1.5 sacks …

I put this in the same category as
All last off-season we heard about how great our veteran lines would be due to all the returning talent... It never materialized in games. More often than not, we won due to explosive plays in the passing game. Neither line was dominant... or really anything close to it.I'm a bit disappointed. He was a true Soph that was getting bigger and stronger. All that investment gone....
With some lineman from Nevada st.Same as basketball.....ya just replace them
Maybe we signed Donta Simpson Jr. from Miami after his visit this week and that's why McCullom portaled? The only thing i can think of is that they have a couple of players lined up that's ready to sign.
yeah, that's my thought on this. I have to believe something big is about to pop.Maybe we signed Donta Simpson Jr. from Miami after his visit this week and that's why McCullom portaled?
