Pru needs to bribe the refs with NLs. Assuming the refs swing that way.

Hope the guys shower good. Takes a lot of scrubbing to get the Iowa city stench off you .

Nine point lead with 7:25 left, we proceeded to allow 4! dunks, a layup, 4 Ft's, and a jumper. All while Z was on the bench. Those were the only 4 dunks in the game for Iowa.

My question is, what is the thinking there? Ben plays pretty good D, but he can't jump. Z is an elite rim protector. What am I missing.
He was falling down too much...

The B10 continues to be such a trash conference in regards to officiating. Worst in the country, and it is not remotely close. When will B10 AD's and coaches demand improvement? There's no excuse for it in the best basketball conference. Ever. Year.

And as others have said, for 37 minutes they were great. Let the players play, didn't insert themselves into the game unnecessarily. Then, it became the usual shitshow. Do better! But I know they never will.

Suck on that, refs!! Great win and fighting through some adversity, boys!

Man, with this game, last night's Cardiac Bears game, and the Cubs signing Bregman...if scientists looked at a scan of my brain from last night and this afternoon, with all the ups and downs, there's honestly only one conclusion they could draw: I'm speedballing uppers and downers.

What a crazy past 15 hours! GO ILLINI!!!

Brad’s best team ever up to this point:

If this Illini team figures out how to put together 2 dominating halves, watch out. We are getting closer, but the killer instinct that was missing for much of the second half finally re-emerged at the end. A B10 wire to wire road win against a top 20 team, especially against Iowa, is great. I love the trajectory of this team, and their potential to peak at tournament time. Can't afford a letdown as we enter what should be an easier stretch of our schedule the next few games.

Who here thought we'd go into Iowa and not trail for one second? Answer......none of us.

It's a home game for them, they made a hard push, for anyone over 20......this is expected. That's why winning on the road is incredibly hard and why quad 1 wins are assigned, even when you beat a team that will be teetering with a lower seed.

Relax, take the W and understand that this was a huge challenge and they answered the bell.
Just glad we have something better to discuss than whining about why a 26pt conference win wasn't 40.

For all the discourse about how unimpressive about our last two games were... I think this game served as a prove it point that we are legit. Potential top 3 seed legit.

I think one thing that needs to be consistent is if a guy gets bumped strong enough while getting a rebound in the air and falls down, you really can't call a travel. That would be nice.

Also, B1G you are making TONS of money. Please pay your refs full time pay so they can work on their craft all year long without any need for side hustles.

I actually think the first one was a fine call, Z landed solidly on his feet he just folded up without contact. The second the Iowa player had both hands on the ball and probably should have been either a jump ball or a foul.

Really unfathomable.

Posted it above but we were up by 15 when Z departed with 10:49 left. He didn't return (somehow) until 1;15 left with the lead dwindled down to 4.

Z proceeded to cause Stirtz to miss layup and blocked a 3 in that final 1:15.

Good road win but CRAZY he barely played the final 11 minutes.

I love it. I love it on the road.

First half was dominance and 2nd half was weathering adjustments and the refs.

Wagler is...the kid is unbelievable. Every 3 pointer was clutch. The free throws (and we made them down the stretch) were clutch. The passes, the fact he's never bothered, the way in which he plays so clean...what a joy to have a Freshman this good, the poised, this calm. Salute.

Also...he'll be in the NBA, but my guy is so skinny (and he finds a way now) that he's gonna get rag dolled in the NBA. Someone PLEASE tell him to work with Fletch for an off-season, get big and go top 5 in...the the draft after this one :)

To me it's all around win. Hostile territory, we knew that Iowa wasn't gonna just roll over a die...so we persevered. And we win, but also get to crunch film on why we stagnate a bit in the 2nd half.

Fun afternoon. Great weekend.
