Young guy, 3 star out of high school, wasn't heavily recruited it seems, but he did get offers from the service academies. I'm guessing good grades and discipline and taken as a possible flier to make the 2 deep or special teams?

It being a Loyola kid who redshirted at Wazzu makes this sort of an incredibly late addition to the 2025 HS class, in a way.
Developmental depth body, but we need that.
Agreed on that, I have to trust the staff knows what they are doing and have a solid plan and we’re going to see some great improvements on defense next year.
Especially for the portal, likely better to look at avg stars than pure ranking number as there are high variances in number of players taken. For instance, OkSU is currently 2nd as they have 43 commits. Even better may be to look at 4 and 5 star commits for the portal which are usually the players who have already produced at this level and likely can be counted on to do so. That unfortunately tells not as rosy of a picture for us. As of now, there are 18 4-5* players committed to the B1G, but we don't have one of those yet

I'm curious about this one, because he's an in-state guy we didn't offer as a prep, and he only played 13 snaps last season as a Freshman, so what drew us to him this time around?
Beat me to it. Although I think some of it went to the Southern Miss Volleyball Facility (his daughter played there). It’s now called the Welfare Relief Center.
we need depth bad at dline. I would kick the tires on 2026 recruit Joey Quinn. I’m pretty sure he was dropped by Vandy but he’s a big kid with great physical traits.
He’s 6’4 285 and we need bodies. Maybe they think his development will be similar to Pat Farrell

I suspect it's a case of a player the staff knows and was 80% of the way to offering out of HS, and all of a sudden 12 months later we've got a need and that player has addressed some of the issues we hesitated on (255 as a recruit, listed at 270 at WSU, claims 285 in that tweet) so it's natural to consummate the marriage that wasn't now.
I think Jake Davis was a similar story on the basketball side.
Depends how much stock you put in those rankings. I don’t put much into them because of the complexity of evaluating all of these portal players.
Makes sense. Just was surprised as we hadn't even offered him when he was a prep a year ago. But we have far more need for it now than then and it makes sense if he was a guy we'd maybe been intrigued by but didn't have room for.

Getting the depth done first, then it's time for the starters. It looks like we are finally getting the DL done.
Trust me not a name I was expecting. I’m sure it’s a kid they think will stay in the program so it makes sense taking a chance on him. It’s not like this will cost of any nil either
