I think people get that we are only one week into the portal season, but doesn't it close Friday the 16th? One week in leaves only 5 days to get some more difference makers. This is a big week upcoming.

There's plenty of bizarre data points.
Elzy got an 87 grade, which is the same as Perry and better than what Clement got last offseason. Tomiwa got a 93, making him a top 50 transfer on the country. I'm not really buying either of those.
Then there's also the fact that other rankings agencies feel completely differently. On3 thinks we've done well in the portal and ranks us 17th:

Correct because as we can see… good portal rankings usually equates to good on field results. Why would I cite 2026 data? Go take a peak at 2024 and 2023. Results hold true.

Because we are one week into the portal cycle and you’re freaking out about the portal class. Right now Ohio state is at 53 do you really think they’ll finish there
I don’t think anyone is freaking out. I think that’s a narrative being driven by optimistic people on this board. I think there is a smaller segment of the fanbase that is looking at this in a more pragmatic fashion. We can acknowledge the staff deserves credit/it’s early. And also want to discuss the broader approach
You just cherrypicked a handful of programs that fit your narrative and left out a bunch of teams that ranked highly in the transfer portal rankings and did not correlate to success on the field, including #1 LSU.
Because why would I post 13 screen shots of recruiting data? Come on man lol. Take a peak. Tell me why the top teams seem to be in the top 20.
Im neither excited nor alarmed by our departures and additions. Theres still time, but we need to land a couple decent DL and a LB to feel good about the defense next year. No need to panic just yet.
