I’m not sure I agree with that. Remember, we have to consider comparison of first year to first year. We have hindsight on the other guys for their whole careers. We have a great hint of what Keaton can be, but he is still developing his legacy. I will say the three that I can think of for comparison would be Ayo, Frank Williams, and Dee Brown. The big difference I remember from their Freshman years is those three were expected to be and were very scoring dominant. I’m not saying Keaton is going to be better than those guys, but I am impressed that he doesn’t have to be scoring dominant. He is so smooth and willing to do whatever is needed from game to game. Today, everyone else seemed to be tight and we needed more from someone and he stepped up. He lets the game come to him and tomorrow could be 4 points, 8 assists, and 6 rebounds to contribute to a win. I wish it was the old days as I would love to watch him develop thru the years. I see a great career development comparison would be Kendall Gill. Does anyone remember how much stronger and better Gill became year by year? That’s a bit of an overreaction or recency bias.
In the last 20 years alone I’ve got him behind:
Deron, Dee, Ayo, Brian Cook, TSJ, Kofi, Frank Williams, Brandon Paul, Marcus Domask
Eddie Johnson, Derek Harper, Bruce Douglas, Nick Anderson, Lowell Hamilton, Andy Kaufman, Kendall Gill….
That’s not even getting to the 30s and 40s
I just went through it again showing my wife the game because she worked today. Its crazy that the three point shooting display Keaton put on started with a miss.I'm rewatching it now. I just watched Keaton miss one. It blew my mind.
We’re so lucky to have MLT. Is there any other fan base that has a guy that breaks down film for fans this good?
If I remember correctly Purdue shot 63% in the first half and we still had the stuff to come back and win.
Because....Wagler
What a day. Purdue fans will be shaking their heads all week. Couldn't be happier
Perhaps Wright State? We’re so lucky to have MLT. Is there any other fan base that has a guy that breaks down film for fans this good?
No doubt, and great point out!Nick Weatherspoon. all-time leader in Illini career points per game and rebounds.
LaTulip is fantastic.
Please watch this. Especially those folks who think we have zero offense. Picture taken from barstool.
