None with Jake whatsoever. Ben has just gotta start hitting his wide open 3s.
We did not chuck any threes today. We had ball movement. It was a thing of beauty. We had Purdue all out of sorts on D. When we have this ball movement, we are very tough to beat. For all those people who think our offense is just "chuck as many 3s as possible", this is for you.
they were but I just see the gears moving with Ben and just don't feel confident when he shoots despite his height advantage. I just get the feel the moment is just too big for him.... will be happy for him to prove I'm wrong. he's been much better this year all around and like his role. i feel the complete opposite with Jake Davis. I think this dude is waiting, craving, absolutely ready for the moment despite being a step slow and not the best athlete. he also is about getting dirty on the offensive boards despite being undersized. I root for them both... just what I see. This is probably more a general comment you’re making - so I’d agree.
But man. I thought both of Ben’s today were MASSIVE shots. The second one in particular.
Maybe we should start ending practice 5 min early.
Yes. Watching in low definition (480 P) was an………..experience. They had to preempt reruns of Bob Barker game shows to squeeze in Illini.Had the same problem in Tampa on Fox, but found it on a spectrum channel called Buzzr
The answer truly is never if you look at it from that perspective. I think Jeff Borzello tweeted out it was the most points ever scored in a top 10 road win.To go down memory lane for once: when's the last time anyone in a CBB game had this great a performance? This isn't me saying it hasn't happened, but when's the last time it's happened? Any player included.
And it's not just 46pts. Factor in missing only 4 shots all game, and in a top5 road win.
I want my 1 to be cool, calm, and collected (Wagler), and I want my 4 to be an absolute psycho (Mirk). The duality of man. These youngsters seem to genuinely love their teammates…

Ha ha
Agreed. However, also worth noting Keaton had the assist on 3 of the 4 threes at the end (two to Tomi, one to Davis).Absolutely
But I mustn’t lose sight of the fact that he only scored 3 of our last 19 points
Lot of guys made big time shots
Man, I love listening to LaTulip.
I know I can get pissy sometimes when the Illini are not "elite," but I never in my life thought NIT. I noticed that, too! LOLGive our fans credit as when things have been rough I’ve still not seen any mention of NIT lol
. . . and AS picked up for him in that game. That's what "elite" teams do.Keaton was 1/9 from 3 against Maryland.
Today goes 9/11.
If I'm Purdont, probably would've preferred in hindsight he didn't go 1/9 to begin with. May have been a fuel in the fire.
