To be clear, that was my reaction during the game, not just in hindsight. I'm not advocating for this as a strategic game plan, but there are certain situations where I don't mind this type of foul. I realize it stopped the clock, but it also gave the Illinois players a minute to regroup. If they let him take that three, I feel confident he hits it with the rhythm he was in and that 1 point lead becomes awfully uncomfortable. At least there was the added pressure of making three free throws in a row on fatigued legs. Definitely would not be the dumbest play of the season.
Check out the men’s Twitter account after the games. I’d say 80% of the time they have something from BU in the locker roomChills. This is an absolutely awesome video! First time hearing any of Underwood’s words in the postgame locker room…
OK, I can't resistWhen we pay like that, we are really hard to beat.
After re-watching all these video breakdowns of the last few minutes and those dagger 3's, a few things stood out to me:
1. The Purdue fans in utter disbelief
2. Tyler signaling the screener to target Cluff even when Purdue pre-switched
3. Fletch acting as cool as a cucumber on the bench
If only this could've applied to the Penn State player Coleman fouled. I'll have horrors about that game for the rest of my living existence.View attachment 46905
vs 43.6% from 3. Not a lot of difference. A missed 3 could be a rebound.
I’m usually sad after a loss but that night I was angry. Can’t recall ever feeling as mad after a game — unless it was at the refs — as that one and I hope I never am again. If only this could've applied to the Penn State player Coleman fouled. You can use the radio link that Dan posts in the game room chat. It is in the first post. You can also see live game stats which is always a minute or so live before the radio or tv call.
Also, didn't realize that those links went to anything that worked after the game/live coverage is over (like late at night/next day/etc.). Nice!!You can use the radio link that Dan posts in the game room chat. It is in the first post. You can also see live game stats which is always a minute or so live before the radio or tv call.
But what if he makes the three and gets a free throw?Or you let Smith hit the 3? I would rather see him go to the line and take a risk. Andre at 6'7 vs a 6 foot gaurd. Go for the block. Risky either way....a block could have sealed it then and no one would be calling it a bad play.
You're right. TKR was behaving very oddly all game. Just kind of randomly a little dirty and physical. He's always physical but this seemed 'off' somehow. If you're bored and have time, go back and watch the replay of the game and focus the entire time on the battle between TKR and Mirk. They were going at it from the very beginning. Very physical.
I’m as impressed as Keaton’s willingness to give the ball up at the end of the game as anything else he did that game. When you’ve got 46, how easy would it be to try and be the hero vs making the easy pass.
Love LaTulip and film room
I found this little segment to be absolutely hilarious.
OK, maybe my comprehension skills haven’t woken up yet, and I don’t understand, or maybe misinterpreting what you wrote, but that Nebraska game was two years ago. Nebraska finished tied for third in the Big Ten conference standings, two games behind the Illini. Though I agree that KW’s performance was more impressive, just not that much more impressive. Nebraska was pretty good that year.I mean, why not actually just put up the whole comparison and let the voters decide?!
Like I said, really tough one. Obviously, if we're talking about the significance of the games, it is important that TSJ's 12-game stretch coincided with the conference tourney and Tournament. But I think we're actually just talking about how good the performances were, and in that case I think Keaton ekes out the win. And yeah, I love TSJ and that 40-pt game was amazing, but 40 on 22 shots against last year's Nebraska on a neutral court is not as impressive as 46 on 17 shots against this year's Purdue at Mackey. And that's not a knock.

Might have a 4 point play...called risk vs reward! Certainedly going for the block has risk. I can absolutely promise this tho: If Ande blocks that shot and recovers the ball like he did against TT...this board would call if one of the best plays of the season. That is how it worksBut what if he makes the three and gets a free throw?
Whoops on the last year part, not sure what happened there. Obviously meant the team 2 years ago.OK, maybe my comprehension skills haven’t woken up yet, and I don’t understand, or maybe misinterpreting what you wrote, but that Nebraska game was two years ago. I noticed he was gassed... surprised painter didn't. ironically the only time to use his switching strategy is when Keaton is gassed because he may not have the legs to make those shots (also the could just be Superman and still make them).... but thankfully Purdue went to rotations late and our other dudes are clutchI’m as impressed as Keaton’s willingness to give the ball up at the end of the game as anything else he did that game. Yes, Mirk clearly had him rattled and I think getting destroyed by Keaton all game contributed to his frustration. The time Keaton got past him on a drive and he just shoved him body-check style would be another example of his frustration (they called a travel on Keaton somehow), then he started pumping his fist like he made a good defensive play. I lost a lot of respect for TKR from this gameYou're right. TKR was behaving very oddly all game. Just kind of randomly a little dirty and physical. And for the officiating in this game. He was getting away with way too much.Yes, Mirk clearly had him rattled and I think getting destroyed by Keaton all game contributed to his frustration. I think he thought he was gonna intimidate the freshman and wasn't too happy when Mirk not only didn't back down, he happily accepted the challenge and started hitting him backYou're right.
