Again though, this isn't college (and this seems to be what people are mixing up). Doing it the way the NFL is doing it is the fairest way to do it. Would you rather the game be over after the team that had the ball first scored a TD?
I’d rather take the ball first so you have the advantage of having the ball in sudden death first if both teams are tied after each possessing the ball.

I think the fairest way to play so a coin toss doesn’t mean as much is to implement the college rule where each team possesses the ball in each OT period. I wouldn’t have possessions start at the 25 though I’d still have it be a regular game and you start at the 30 of your own end. If you fail to score other team starts on their 30. If they fail to score you go to the next OT period and alternate who gets the ball starting out.

Rams had the ball twice in OT and scored. Bears only once. And Bears lose so I don’t think that’s fair although again Bears won the coin toss and it didn’t have to be that way

Looking at the last interception again, it's not like the pass was that big of a shot. If DJ runs the right route, it's complete at the 25, and given the weather that's the spot you need for a realistic FG opportunity. The play call was a vert by Odunze to pull the safety back, and then a dig by DJ into the open space left behind. Instead, DJ kept going vertical to follow Odunze, and then just stopped when he realized it wasn't right and watched the INT happen, compounding the issue.

2 of the 3 ints last night were receivers who ran the wrong route while Caleb threw in anticipation of the right route. The third was an overthrow on 4th down where not completing the pass is a turnover on down anyway.

The biggest issue last night was that the line wasn't able to provide much to the run offense, so they couldn't get the short yards they normally did and failed to convert about six situations of 3 or fewer yards.
good call, watching the replay from behind QB, there was a huge hole Caleb threw to and im not sure what DJ was doing on the play

Just plain lousy the way I feel today after the loss, kinda numb. It's over. Too bad. I'm sure Bears and organization feel the same. A long, hard grueling season only to lose a game they could have won. How thrilling, amazing were those comebacks this season! Bravura, bravo. Caleb and everybody.

Still flying Bears flag.

The reason teams are going on defense is so that way if the first team scores a touchdown and the extra point, then the second team knows they can win with a TD and a 2-point conversion. Rams-Seahawks game in Seattle earlier this season was literally decided because of this.

Kind of a surreal feeling going into a Bears offseason NOT discussing who should get fired...

If the defender (a safety) covering Moore got to the spot and made the catch, why wouldn't Moore be able to get there?

I thought Mully & Haugh had an interesting conversation about which free agent secondary players the Bears should try to sign. Byard had a great season but he is old and I don't think he's fast enough at this point. I would try to resign Brisker but it didn't sound like they would on the show.

Given how good NFL field goal kickers are,
I’d start at your own 40 (60 yards for a touchdown). That way, you need to pick up two first downs for a reasonable field goal chance.

The 40 is also where teams start after a kickoff violation, so there is some measure of logic to what I’m thinking.

Did the Bears get 9 or 8 home games last season? I assume that it alternates. I wonder how they count foreign country games?

That list is bad. Should be average home game attendance. Obviously the Twitter commenters don't know that 17 is an odd number of games.
Bears and all NFC teams had 8 home games, which is why the first column is populated mostly by AFC teams. List certainly illustrates how bad team needs a new stadium wherever it is built.

Even if you gave the Bears another 58,000 for a 9th home game, they'd come in 27th.

Soldier Field is listed at 61,500 capacity, but they didn't have a single game that eclipsed 60,000 in attendance. Most between 58-59K.

The only other teams who drew less than 60,000 more than once were the Titans and Jaguars.

why McCaskeys would build a new stadium , anywhere , with capacity less than 72,000 makes little sense to me .

Years ago, I remember that stadiums had to have a capacity of 73,000 to host a Super bowl. Not sure if still true.

I get that

but don’t they want to give Joe Sixpack a shot at some cheap seats at the top ? LA Rams averaged 73,125. isn’t their place the state of the art ?

I know you meant suites , but more suits at the games is a freudian slip
The saying in the industry is that the last row of seats in the upper deck costs the most to build and delivers the least revenue in return.

perhaps

but they aren’t losing money with them

see Rams , Los Angeles or
see Cowboys , Dallas

So we get no compensation picks for Cunningham to Atlanta, sucks but good luck to him...now lose Declan Doyle to the Ravens, good luck also...any thoughts on Nate Scheellhaase to replace him...? A little Johnson/McVay hybrid offense...

Johnson calls his plays . it wouldn’t really benefit Nate
