I believe Brad's current contract is structured such that the buyout and other significant financial penalties including a non-compete clause would make this a total no-go
It's a non-compete for all schools for the length of the contract "unless certain material changes have occurred." Unsure what the material changes could be. Josh leaving? Sudden lack of NIL support?

I’m no “message board genius” by any means, but I seriously doubt that, at Brad’s age,” he’d choose to start over from scratch at another program. It took him nine years to get Illinois to this level. If K-State wants an Underwood, they should seriously consider Tyler instead.

Brad to K-State online discourse has fired itself up.

I would think Underwood and Bielema both understand what a blessing it is to have Whitman as an AD. Not only is he smart, but they know he has their back. His measured but strong support of TSJ during that stupid legal debacle was a clinic in how to handle a sensitive and unfair situation. Not every AD is that smart. Or that supportive when some of the media wind is blowing the other way or the university administration may be gun shy.

Travis Steele will be a hot name … As will Schertz …

I’ve heard some Pitino to Providence rumblings …

Cronin would be open to a move …

LSU sounds like it will be open … Oklahoma will be open …

Paris gets another year … Forbes gets another year …

I continue to hear Duke could be open …

Duke?

Makes more sense
Donavan looks like he is ready to move on. I am not sure though about Scheyer's coaching chops. But seeing his Northshore connections and working with top NBA prospects for the past 15 years at Duke it might be a good move. Who knows, maybe coaches 5 years with the Bulls and then goes back to college to coach the Illini around 2031. He's not even 40 years old.
