Illini in the Pros (Basketball)

Should have come back another year to work on his strength.

Well to be fair, not sure a clear path to the basket, nary a whisper of contact slam dunk is proof he doesn’t need to get stronger. But, yes, those advocating for him to return to get stronger when was going to be a first round pick were being a bit ridiculous. [And yes I did see the sarcasm designation.]

In their most recent game:
Kasparas 12 pts, 3 reb, 5 assists, 1 TO
Ayo 12 pts, 5 reb, 4 assists, 1 TO
Will 11 pts, 6 reb, 4 assists, 0 TO

Brad coaches his guards to be complete players as well as "team" players who fill up the stat sheet. The kind of guard who may never be a Hall of Famer but the kind of guard every team needs to win championships. Akin to Ron Harper with the Bulls of old.

but still facilitating, somewhere around 3.5-4 assists/game vs 1 TO since January

3-4 assists is fairly average for an off the ball wing in the NBA. His usage has dropped drastically. He’s no longer a “facilitator” in the same way or volume as he was at Illinois. It’s also not out of the realm of possibilities that he simply has improved in some areas.

my hypothesis is health and consistent officiating. Perhaps not in that order.

Could also be coach Spo not letting him play if he’s gonna be a turnover machine.
nba game is different too- to my eyes, he looks the same as last year but doesn't look sped up largely because the other 4 players on the court are playing at that speed too (both actual pace and real time processing)
